Genesis is interpreted loosely by some Christians, i.e. it did not actually occur in seven days but over a more substantial piece of time.

And the old testament mentions the Leviathan, a giant beast, which could be seen as a dinosaur.

Leviathan is clearly a whale, and this is agreed by essentially all serious theological scholars; equally Behemoth, all that is said is he has a large tale and is very strong etc; Suggested animals include the water buffalo, rhinoceros and the elephant, but the most common suggestion is the hippopotamus.

Others disagree with these identifications, pointing to the fact that the animal's tail "moves like a cedar" , an unlikely description for any of these animals. Scholars maintaining identification with the elephant say that "tail" could describe an elephant's trunk. Moreover, some suggest that "tail" is a euphemism for male genitalia. Support for this is based on another meaning of the Hebrew word "move" which means "extend" and on the second part of verse 17 describing the sinew around its "stones" (the Vulgate uses the word "testiculorum").

Nate will bombard me with a million bible questions right at his bedtime too...its like they think about this stuff for weeks then wait to dump it all on you at once!

The last time he did this to me, I was able to answer all of them I think except one...knowing the bible well helps!
Keep going, kid! Don't give into her mumbo-jumbo!

I think that there's hope for kids like that. A lot of people figure it out pretty early.

I find it very amusing (and telling) that the parents have to try so hard to drum these ideas into their kids' heads while their sense of individual thinking is still strong.

I feel so sorry for Nate.

At least he's trying. I think he'll break free once his freak of a parent is no longer his guardian

Hahahaha. I love how the dinosaurs died after the original sin. Damn you Adam! I could have a T-Rex as a pet if it weren't for you!

On a real note, thank you for the forum! I think I might join so that whenever I get sad I can go read a couple posts and just lul for hours!

That's a great idea, I think I'll join the forum too. It's about time I become a member of something other than DV, anyway!

But don't forget what somebody in there said about how the dinosaurs were just lizards that lived for such a long time they grew to be huge. Think about how big a T rex would be after so many millions of years. And according to their ideas, there should now be really small T rexes you can go out and get for pets.

It looks like that place is about to be suddenly flooded with atheists. Get 'em good before they ban you all after about five minutes.
      You are dreaming right now.
