I'm Christian, But when I read this, I bowed at the intellegence of O'nus.

Quickly, I find that many people will use the Bible as a direct reference for their reasoning and morals. Christians alike follow and interpret many of the Bibles passages to support a paramount of ethics. However, there are several problems with this:

Firstly, this is an incontrovertable fact; God himself did not write the Bible. There is no signature from God or any indication that God himself wrote the very words in the Bible. Thusly, if a person did replicate the words from God and wrote them down, then they are not the words of God but the replication and interpretation of Gods words written down by human beings. Further, if you make the step to say that a human's words are just as good as God's - then we must simultaneously accept that humans physical limitations are also evident in God.

Secondly, the Bible has been translated and manipulated many times. Consider that the modern Bible's ommit many passages and books. For example, the Book of Mary Magdalene is not included within any Bible - why? Also, consider that in 325, at the Council of Nicaea, they edited and changed the Bible's contents for modern readers. It was the very purpose of the council. It was again modified in 787. Furthermore, Paul purported his version of the bible that were revealed to him by Jesus - but not Jesus' physical manifest self. Moreover, Saint Jerome translated the Vulgate from Hebrew and Greek.

Thirdly, if you are to reference the Bible for anything, then you must be prepared to accept all of the moral reasoning within the Bible. Consider that in Exodus 21:7 and thereafter, they fervently adhere to the selling of your daughters. Questionable passages from the bible are ubiquitous (ie. a man can rape a woman and merely have to pay 22 sheckle). While people make references to the absurdity of homosexuality, they neglect these certain parts of the Bible.

Thus, if you reference the Bible as the foundational crux of your belief system, there are many objectional arguments which you must be prepared to answer. Namely, the translational problems (keep the telephone-game analogy in mind with this), universal acceptance of the bible, and political implications of the bible.

Just thought I would throw that in there as I do not advocate the bible as any grounds for self-proving arguments. It is just as good as me saying, "I believe Darwin is correct about evolution because the Origin of Species says so."
O'nus, thank you for saying things I haven't been able to say for a while. I came back at the right time! As for the rest of you Christians, go ahead and take a whack at me. ^___^

Imagine experiencing something more real than our scientific reality.

And now... it is experienced again, and again.

Each time giving a glimpse into something that makes reality start seeming almost dreamlike.

The illusion of the choice to go back to such scientific 'reality' becomes... irrelevant.

I'm trying to figure a way to tie this into car insurance, but i am having difficulty.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

He never has a point. Just an edge. His words do not stab directly into the subject, they glance off, and slice the outer edges, and one must look closely to see this.

One must experience such to see just how sharp such a point is, and just how deep the stab really is

Mere words cannot hope to explain

There is much more here than mere scratches on the surface

lol...on our Father. I was sitting at the breakfast table the other day and eating my cereal when I suddenly looked up and out the window. Something "knowed me." It "knowed me." Sorry...can't even explain how it happened. I realized from it that; "I am right where I am supposed to be."
      With vivid clarity. How strange.

Something knowed you? That defies the laws of grammar!

In all honesty, I've had a similar experience - I woke up in the middle of the night once and couldn't move; I felt a presence and I could have sworn it sitted on my chest. Sleep paralysis.

The human mind is a wondrous thing, but quite prone to glitches.

Yeah, Ive heard of sleep para. What if it wasn't though. What if that's what doctors tell you when you have that type of experience because anything else would scare them to death.

And what if there is a teapot orbiting the moon?! What if there is a flying spaghetti monster on mars?!

Well Im really not trying to pull things out of the air with a "poof parade" as in spagetti monster's and a tin tea cup's happily chortling an orbit around the moon. Odd both examples were so un-earthly. How did we jump to the moon. Did we ride the cow????

The hypothetical teapot was an idea of Russel Bertrand's, concocted specifically as an antidote to the type of thinking you are displaying.

Is it possible that something was really outside your window and communicated with you? Yes, of course. Is it reasonable to assume that this was not just some trick of your mind and subsequent rush of warm-and-happy chemicals? I think not.

As for sleep paralysis, it is quite well documented and thousands of people have experienced it. It's simply foolhardy to abandon all previous evidence in favor of a boogeyman theory.

God never tells you anything as it has no real voice. Only a strong compeling inner choise. Deep, still, open, beeingness openess. We are what we think we are. I aim for our earth and star =) It´s only logical. Without the light from the sun this would never have begun. Without the darkness of the (edit: Center) earth there would never be a birth. Life is but a extenchion of the light and darkness in a imaginary fight. Light and sound is there on alot of levels. Sometimes we call it radiation as we cant see it with our eyes. Sound is from the ground and as we drum our universal dance has begun.

Soon starts the REAL fun =)

      God is just a word.

How you relate to creation is limited only by imagination. Condition mind. Condition find.

      Un-limit mind. Un-limit find.

Expectation is a killer in creation and relation.

      Only natural flow and grow.

Left and right brain conflict will make you sick.

Time to wake up and be right here and forget about the universal fear.

      Wasn't he called Bertrand Russell?

      Rather than Russel Bertrand?

      Some healthy nitpicking.

Just for the hell of it. The window was only something I was looking out of when it happened. When something "knowed" me. It didn't have anything to do with the incident. Twas only a there. Here's to teapots perking there way happily around the moon and spagetti monsters.

The incident you are referencing had nothing to do with the teapot analogy.
