You said "i realise now that the things i say have more than one meaning and go very deep."
I once had a spiritual teacher who told me that during a particular prayer event, one of the participants, out of boredom, prayed for "...the sky to meet the earth." Within minutes of the prayer, a tornado formed and began to advance on the group. The prayer leader settled in and began a chant and the tornado dissipated.
Coincidence? Possibly.
Personally, I have to agree with your assesment of words. To be impeccable with our words is to respect their power. Unfortunately, too much of our culture is rooted in the written word (witness where we are right now and what we're all doing). This has left us disconnected from the spoken word and the understanding of its power.
The spoken word has the ability to set an intent in us in a way that the written word does not, and setting an intent is the core of every spiritual practice from Paganism to Catholicism.
I don't think you sold your soul. I think you abandonded it for a time. And in so doing allowed yourself to create a better situation for yourself.
This is of course, simply my humble opinion.
well even if you sell your soul you could cheat and say i will sell my soul for 3 more souls. sell 2 for watever e.g 1 trillion billion dollars and the other to live forever then you cant die so satan cant take you to hell and if he does then get a refund of your origanal soul lol!
i have about 15 times, got about $50 for it each time (people are morons)Quote:
has anyone sold their soul, know someone who has. i'd like to hear some other peoples take on this.
Sorry dude, but youre schizophrenic.
That comment on you quitting pot made me certain.
A new study came out recently showing that if you have any schizo in your genes, whether it be from a relative, and it isn't active, smoking pot triggers it.
My cousin has it and this is similar to what he experianced before his meds.
Also, they linked his condition to pot.
no, it's as simple as writing 15 notes that say "This is my soul"Quote:

i never said i quitQuote:

and i find it odd that you base your diagnosis on a comment i made that doesn't imply any of the symptoms of schizophrenia.
let's have a linkQuote:

Coincidence? Hmm, let me think... No, not coincidence... business as usually, I'd call it.
People are praying for things all the time. At any given moment there's someone praying for anything, any outcome you can possibly imagine.
Let's see here: Some one praying for "the sky to meet the Earth" Hmm, tornadoes touch down all the time, whether people pray for it or not. Tornado's that have touched down cease to sustain all the time, whether people pray for it or not.
The moral is that you're trying to find cause and effect when the two have no connection in the matter. And seriously, you really think that an all-powerful God would be conjuring up tornadoes for the amusement of people "praying out of boredom"? Doesn't seem too "God like" to me. It sounds much more like wishful thinking.
Think rain dancing but with more rump shaking. Then think about how silly the whole notion is.
i think i know what you mean..
its kind of like making a deal with the devil sort of thing if I'm not mistaken?
Like.. say you wanted this fabulous lifestyle.. to become rich and famous or just to have the perfect family of your own or whatever..
if you had the chance to get that.. made a deal with the devil.. then after so many years or something he comes to take what you promised him?
Lol.. i watch WAYYY too much tv..
^__^
OH.
by the way.
I don't actually beleive you can "Sell your soul"
Or trade it. or whatever.
I think everyone took it too literal.
lol.
:paranoid::horse:
I recently traded my soul for a cookie. No proof that any transfer took place . . . that is besides the cookie . . . mmm . . . cookie . . .
Really what is a soul anyway? I havent seen a really good explanation of what a soul really is.
some homeless guy sold his soul to me for a pair of thongs once, a good deal if you ask me:D
I'll sell my soul to the devil if he can keep his word and send me to hell. Thats all I ask.
I've always thought of the soul as the esscense of yourself/your true character and the whole of your morals and life lessons you have learned which is all that carries on into your next life. (reincarnation :P) it is literally the definition of YOU. hell it is you. how the hell does god own you? what is he a slave-driver? sure he made you an all (if you believe in that) but then again your parents made you too. an they dont "own" you. my take on it. :P lol at selling your soul.......
i sold my soul to my friend for a box of gobbstoppers
right after he opens his mouth...
now he gets this from others;
Quote:
But thats just a stupid theory for a stupid thing, that is probably not existing. Hell, I will believe in the Loch Ness monster, but not in this
i guess the lesson here is, be careful when opening your mouth, cause people are likely to make fun of you. i'll remember that, and i hope sneezes does too.Quote:
I'm far from serious here. Who wrote this topic? Reading too much dark literature, such as Faust, can drive alot of people literally insane.

Sell your soul today!
Your hallucinations/delusions could have been from the stress you were experiencing.
I’ve worked with mentally ill patients for almost 30 years. I realize that a significant portion of these patients would benefit more from spiritual healing than antipsychotics and antidepressant meds. My nurse friends joke about sending some disturbed patients to visit “the exorcist in the last exam room on the left” but many would TRULY feel better/get healed if they would seek spiritual guidance.
Learning to “love one another” can be difficult for many who have been hurt or never experienced love BUT just like lucid dreaming, it can be learned. It has to be practiced like a science. After you begin to “master” this you actually feel euphoria and seek out situations where you can help others...kind-of-like drug seeking behavior....you go looking for your (God) connection...ha, ha. Some people state this euphoria is because you are beginning to actually experience God Himself.
The exact opposite is true for people that “hate everyone and everything”. Negative actions/feelings will attract negative beings. If you truly feel that you have interacted with demonic entities, you need to expel them for your own mental/spiritual health. Just like man, God made rules for His Angels. Demons, fallen Angels, have to operate under these rules. God’s rule says that demons have to be invited in by you to possess you. (Rarely demons attack VERY spiritual individuals like Mother Theresa.) They also have to leave if you want them to go but it can take a lot spiritual work.
This is how you can know that there is such a thing as the human soul. In EVERY civilization, the people have a belief system of “right and wrong”. This is found in every civilization because it is innate in humans. The desire to have “right and wrong” is because humans have a soul. All of our other bodily organs/functions are similar to other mammals EXCEPT that humans always form belief systems of “right and wrong”.
Anyways, I hope Ahhchuu is feeling better.

More proof related to souls.......
A retired Monsignor told me a true experience story about homes that were near a specific monastery in America. These homes were frequently bothered with frightening poltergeist activity such as levitating objects, furniture flying across the room, wailing noises coming from the walls. He had never seen any problem that was so widespread and occurring in several neighboring homes. He found that the day that the Elder monastic died, the poltergeist activity stopped completely. His theory was that demons were frequenting the monastery to try for the dying Elder's soul. ( To tempt the Elder on his deathbed to forsake God.) The demonic activity in the neighboring homes was essentially "fallout" from the demonic attacks in the monastery.
