I don't know why but someone calling the bible an acient book makes me laugh, nice laughter of course but it makes me laugh, I never really thought about the bible as a book...

God didnt put the gunmen there..The gunmen chose to put himself there...If the Gunmen believe in God and Jesus, he would be doing Godly things...Not robbing people of their money/belongings...

How many times must I say...Gods has stated the Truth it is up to us which path we take and what decisions we make.. If we want to follow God and Jesus that is our choice (not gods or jesus) If we want to go and rob/steal/kill/rape that is our choice (not gods or jesus) But in the End we will have to face the consequences of our actions...Good Or Bad...and when JUDGEMENT is set...JUDGEMENT is set....

The gunman represents Satan, whom God supposedly created. You keep telling me I can choose to believe Christianity and that not doing so calls for eternal torture. I have no idea how to. Please explain to me how to go about thinking Christianity makes sense. I really want to know.

how does the gunmen represent Satan? We all have our own minds we all know what is right and wrong...Until you have felt the holy spirit inside you, you will have a hard time believeing in Christianity....On the otherhand, The bible has been proven more times to be TRUE then false...and it has been proven over science (and evolution) and even over atheist.. (how do i know) Because I have Family who researches the Bible exstensivly (on bothsides of the coin)

As much as you may think, your family are not experts. In actuality, the Bible has been closer to proven false many more times.

I say closer to, not entirely. Why? Because it can't be proven either way. Just because there are some similarities in the Bible or possible coincidences of things it 'predicted' doesn't mean its truth.

You do your research. There are many arguments, and just because your family has found certain aspects to be true, doesn't mean they can't be either A: Countered B: Flawed or C: that there aren't alternate possibilities.

There are many people, Religious Scholars, Religious Fanatics, Scientists, Philosophers, and a lot of others, God believers and not, Zealots and not, and extremists or not that have found or "proven" the Bible to be true or untrue.

Heres an idea. Post your family's "Proofs"

Umm, how exactly did you find proof of anything from the bible? I mean they can't even prove that Jesus existed... Anyway, the book looks more like a really badly written fairy tale, I prefer Lord of the rings. I can also prove the Norse gods exist, but you'll only understand when you feel it you know... you have to really feel it. Or you could just die in an honourable battle and ask the gods themselves.

Well guys, as you all know, I like to tell you all when i'm ditching and topic and give a friendly goodbye. who knows why god won't free the souls from hell. we, wolf and I, could be completely wrong about god. The bible says that his ways are not our ways, his thoughts not our thoughts, just like the thoughts of the cow chewing its cud are not human thoughts nor ways. In my analogy, the gunman represents Satan, the gun represents Hell, and the victim represents somebody who does not know how to believe that 2 + 2 = 5 or even that he is supposed to even though some ancient book said he better believe it or else.

How has the Bible been proven to be true more times than false? It contradicts itself all over the place, it says Earth is 6,000 years old, says the sun "stopped", gives a story that contradicts evolution (which is an extremely well supported theory), talks about going to a high place and seeing all of the kingdoms of the Earth, and claims lots of other things that we now know don't fit into scientific facts. How do you think the Bible has been proven over science?

I don't agree. I thought God loved the world. The whole WORLD, and yet, he damns those he supposedly "loves" to eternal suffering. Isn't he soo loving?
