tough one really, technically anyone who truly beleives in Jesus Christ as their saviour and believes God is as the Bible describes him is Christian. It doesn'ty matter how they behave, they are still Christian.

Say Hitler, he was horrible, but he believes that he was doing what God wanted when he was killing Jews( kinda doesn't make sense:p). He was a strong Christian, he just took some parts literally which obviously weren't supposed to be.

So yeah it doesn't matter on the behaviour of the person, the members of the Klu-Klux-Klan are all Christians, infact strong ones, because they take the Bible very literally, but only the verses that allow them to be racist and violent, not the " THOU SHALT NOT KILL" which trumps everything else really.

There is no reason to assume any kind of person that follows the bible is any less of a Christian then another. If all those people feel god like other Christians do, they are all as right. The Catholics and the Protestants in Ireland, that kill each other by the dozen, are both 100% Christian.

To be honest, besides that, if one group was truly Christian, if you believe in the bible that is, it would be that baptist-church that picket at gay funerals all the time (lots of media attention lately). They are the only group of people that I ever saw (in the media) that TRULY follow exactly what the bible clearly says. I hate them, but atleast they don't have to bend their bible around with 'oh, out of context, oh, old times, oh, well that part isn't literally'.

Lets look at the word christian for a sec

CHRIST- ian the root of the word is christ. A christian by defenetion is someone who beleives that christ is the son of god. So anyone who beleives that is a christian by default.

Thus mormons are christains by the very defentition of what is a CHRIST-ian.

Sorry to dig this thread up again

I won't dig up any more old threads...I promise

Wow, I forgot about this thread. I wonder what happened to Joey, he was pretty cool. Havn't seen Neruo is a while for that matter. This is why I don't make a lot of threads. I usually get two replys and the thread dies.

      well i don't know...

i believe in god and the ten commandments. even if it's not real it's still a good way to keep your life straight.

on the whole though, modern religion is a scam

i try to keep in mind... anytime you give an organization money, someones getting rich. your church might not make much off it, but someone does.

      so am i a christian?
i don't know... therefore i find it hard to define.

Well it's not that hard to define. Do you beleive that jesus christ is the messiah and the son of god? If yes then you are a christian. If no then your not a christian.

This is like the whole KKK thing, Westboro Baptist Church follows only the parts of the Bible that have to do with homosexuality, they completely disregard loving others, and seem to forget that God looks at all sin the same.

I have to disagree with all sin being the same. I mean, is missing church akin to murder?
