Unfair Punishement Of Adam And Eve

Adam and Eve were perfect until they ate of the apple- the apple was the choice of freewill (they were hella bored so they ate) God didn't damn them for eating he said there would be consequences of their choice.
Incest is a man created concept- in a world that was pure and only had two people it was not a sin for them to procreate but rather they WERE sin at that point. The consumation was allowed but bared the pain of childbirth and the future of man (woman will bare the pain of the earth, while men will bare the work of the earth- something like that)
So, incest theoretically has developed consequences of children born retarded etc. through evolution but... would not have neccessarily been the case for Adam and Eve. I think that God intended for incest to become of a forsaken nature because he realized that man's lustful nature could be hurtful. Basically, God wants you to know to keep your hands to yourself at home!!!!

The Bible is a spiritual book, no? So shouldn't it be read to understand its spiritual meaning? A literal reading of a spiritual book takes away all meaning that it is supposed to provide. I have no idea where you are coming from saying that it only makes sense reading it literally, it is exactly the opposite!!! Read Genesis or Revelations, for example, literally and you immediately run into contradictions, so what are you talking about?! Could you provide examples?

Symbols are the only way of understanding spiritual things since we have lost our ability to perceive them directly. There is no contradiction here, in fact it eliminates all contradiction! Spiritual understanding is within us, and symbols are the means of getting there - back to the source. A literal reading removes any spiritual knowledge that one could "gain" (or more truthfully "reveal", hence Revelations), and since it is a spiritual book it should be read that way. "Apocalypse" means to "uncover" or "reveal". It is something that happens at the end of a cycle ("end of a world"), which reveals a truth that has been forgotten. It is an event that happens within because spiritual knowledge cannot come from the sensory world - and this is exactly the lesson of Adam and Eve.
