Hmm, people seem to have a strong opinion about magic, or non existence of it. Somebody probably should define it.
The mind is a very powerfull tool, if you know how to use it. Magic is simply a consentration of your mind on a desirable outcome to make it come true. Emotions and strong desire provide energy that is needed to grant one's wish.
Prayer is a type of magic. Person consentrates on prayer, asking God to give him helth, wealth, or whatever else.
Did that help? Or you're still not convinced?

sorry for a bit of a bump here but i do so like debating stuff

      Firstly about Wiccan magic:

I'm not Wiccan, i'm atheist, but i think alot of people get confused when they here the word magic. I think they have seen to many wizard films and such. Magic is using what Wiccans claim are natural abilities which we can all do if we work on it, like mediation but very in depth. I think the reason alot of Christians think it's a load of rubbish is that:

      1) Their God forbids it

      2) Being able to use magic would take ALOT of years worth of hard work. Like Dling, some people can just do it but to really pefect it it takes alot of time and effort for most people. Being a Christian doesn't really take any effort apart from going to Church on a Sunday (which alot of my Christian friends don't do...unusual, i go to a Church School but i got a science placement they offer).

      3) If Wiccan magic does work then it would mean Wiccans have superior powers to Christians, this would mean that the all mighty Christian God is either non existant/Weaker then a Wiccan or that he is being selfish and not letting people connect with their " Inner Spark, or soul" on a truly high level.

Personally i do believe that with enough focus a small amount of "magic" may be possible. We are still evolving and since we have met most of our phsyical requirements to survive it is time to start developing internal improvements, especially in the brain which with every generation slightly more will be unlocked, since atm we are only using 10%, imagine what we could do with twice our brain power, itshard to imagine, then think of 80%, then 100%, i think if our race survives then in millnions of years we could all become God like beings.

I read an interesting article a while ago that was investigating the theory that some animals have limited telepathic powers, namely wolfs in this case about how efficiently they hunt and how when setting up ambushes, if the prey 100m away decides to turn left not right, those wolfs 100m on the right suddenly seem to be aware of this fact and adjust to catch the prey, yet they could not have seen that the prey had changed route and where it was belived to be heading.

Secondly and atm this is my final point as i get to get off comp now: I really hate it when Christians call Satanists devil worshippers . They are NOT the same thing at all!! Ever tried wiki or google or any kind of research material, even the basics of Satanism will show you they are very similiar to humanists, which is kind of a fancy way of saying Atheist in that there is no higher power so we may aswell go about improving and enriching ourselfs as best we can.

My kitty Wooole!, i love you julan!!!!

Joey11223, I think you response makes a lot of sense.
I heard about ants having psychic power. They have a very complex hierarchy structure. They have sepicialized roles in the ant's society. Some people believe that they are telepathic because it seems they can spread information very quickly over large areas.

Paladins and clerics always have worse magic than wizards and sorcerers, although their magic is more effective against the undead.

I just asked Him, and He said maeeerrrrrrrrr, which means in Cat "Time for my supper". This wasn't much help but on earlier occasions He said that what you believe in your heart is what really counts.
A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service
and compassion are the things which renew humanity.

      (Agnostic) atheist number 35!
Part of the biggest group of people bothering to vote in this poll - now that again surprises and delights me!
And it surpasses my count next door by about 10, I guess: http://www.dreamviews.com/religion-s...ists-here.html

I chose "catholic" in the poll, but I am not Roman Catholic but Episcopalian. As long as we keep the c in catholic small though, I think that is more accurate than protestant, though it's a bit of both. There are significant differences though, and I am very tolerant of others beliefs and my own keep changing over time (faith as a spiritual learning path rather than dogma/doctrine).
