So god isn't 100% certain in your eyes? Then why do you believe? Why not allah?
And your posts are getting pretty short, lets keep everything to a more general level so it isn't a dialogue, but a multi-logue.

alright then
I would like to turn your question back on you: why dont you beleive in Allah, or Odin, or Zeus or ... whatever-else-gods-there-may-be?
why do you follow the religion of Athiesm and Evolution?
What I'm trying to say is why make such a big statement about something you don't know? We don't know whether anything exists, other than our own existances. Putting faith in science is just as pointless as putting faith in a potentially non-existant god. All science is, to the average man, is a list of facts that people should apparently take for granted, though through its own logic shows us that we should believe nothing, as senses and beliefs are as easily distorted as a puddle of water. Why not believe in a religion, leading a happy life, instead of one based on scepticism and sterile unimaginativity?
Allah is the same essential god as the Christian God. It's basically the same religion - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_view_of_Jesus
Because then i would be as ignorant as Keeper (ignorant being what socrates thinks ignorance is) the point is Keeper belife and most belife like socrates says is founded on ignorance he still hasnt anwser my question.Quote:

nicely put so anwser me this KeeperQuote:
Really, if you deny that there is allways a chance of something playing with your senses, allways the matrix-possablity, always the dream-possablity -even the slightest-, if you don't see that, you don't use logic to think.[/b]
Keeper and other are a prime example of ignorance because in socrates and a true skeptic eyes they would consider they could be wrong or mentally ill e.t.c. so they cant say anything true so they cant believe in anything nor science or god e.t.c.Quote:
Anwser me this keeper if you had schoifernia and you didnt know you had schoifernia couldnt your belife in god be cause by schiofernia or other mental illnesses? And if you say NO then wouldnt a person with schiofernia and other mental illnesses say NO too? So how could you trurly know that you have no mental illnesses because denial could be apart of your mental illnesses?
If you did anwser question above then their no way you could know if your mentally ill or not or if this sentanced i writing now is correct is unknowable. Infact i can say is i know nothing and that keeper you say you know something but really you dont well i dont know if this is true too.
QUOTE
I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance.
Socrates
your ignorant to the fact you might have a mentall illness and the fact that you our incapable of knowing anything because you might have mental illness.[/b]
when did I say that?
please, dont put words in my mouth
[edit] so, please tell me, how do you know if I have that disorder? I have never heard a voice in my head all my life, most certanly one claming to be God
you believe in god now. and your still ignorant to the fact you might have a mental illnesses that makes you believe in god even though their might be no god.Quote:
when did I say that?
please, dont put words in my mouth [/b]
okay admit their might not be a god
Yes but how do you truly know you dont suffer from a mental disorder that makes you believe in god.Quote:
[edit] so, please tell me, how do you know if I have that disorder? I have never heard a voice in my head all my life, most certanly one claming to be God[/b]
could the ame not be said of you?
... and when did I say that I might not be mentilly ill? I dont recall saying that
Yes. However i not socratically ignorant because you believe in god and i say i dont know because i am always considering im wrong and mentally ill. But you dont you still believe in god that make you ignorant to the fact you might be wrong and that mental illnesses e.t.c. are blinding you.Quote:
could the ame not be said of you?
... and when did I say that I might not be mentilly ill? I dont recall saying that[/b]
Quote:
I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance.
Socrates[/b]
So, if you know nothing, how can you know I am wrong, or blind?
Person one: "There are no truths"
Person two: "Is that statment right or wrong?"
Person one: "It is right"
Person two: "But how can it be, if there are no absolutes?"
Person two: "... damnit!"
I didnt say their no absolute i am saying is that it unknowable and the only thing you can know is that everything is unknowable. Plus to say you know something is ignorance because you could be wrong or mentally ill e.t.c. You can only know that you know nothing is it a paradox i dont know.Quote:

I'm just saying, how do you know you're not mentilly ill for not believing?
I anwser that early when i said that i dont know if i am mentally ill for not believing. The point is by believing in something like god you ignorant and not to believing too your still ignorant because you could be mentally or ignorant e.t.c.Quote:
I'm just saying, how do you know you're not mentilly ill for not believing? [/b]
Your ignorant keeper because you believe in god when you could be mentally ill or ignorant e.t.c. I believe in nothing myself and the thing i only know is
just admit you could be mentally ill or ignorant i admit i could be mentally ill or ignorant. The only way of you not being ignorant is to stop believing in god and become a maybe or 50/50 chance of god being true or say you believe in nothing.Quote:
I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance.
Socrates[/b]
what good would it do for me to admite I am mentilly ill or not?
what makes you so sure that to stop beleiving and exept a 50% chance is a good thing? That in itself is as good as not beleiving.
After all, you could be ill just for saying that, no?
Well you admit you truly know nothing that would solve it but your to ignorant for that. And yes you have a point but the only way to escape ignorance and the fact that you might be wrong or ignorant is to say you know nothing.Quote:

The only thing i can be sure of is my ignorance and to say i believe in god doesnt not mean that i am not mentally ill or ignorant because a mentally ill person would say that. you can only know nothing or of you ignorance.Quote:
I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance.
Socrates[/b]
how can someone know nothing?
I know I am male
I know the name I go by
I know what my thoughts are
I know there is night and day
I think Socrates messed up a bit in that quote, though on some levels it is correct
except night and day they are all human concepts they dont truly exisist well thought wavy. The point he trying to make is you can not say you know something because that could be due to mental illnesses or ignorance their no way of you knowing something absolute like beauty or god or good e.t.c. because you could be ignorant or mentally ill.Quote:

name is also a "human concept" if you want to go that root, but it is still Turth
how do you know that what you are saying is a sign of a mentil illness?
for all you know, saying you know nothing is a mentil problim, and that it is actually the correct thing to say that you do know some of this stuff?

does that anwser i may seem paradoxical to you but then at least i not ignorant the only thing i will truly know is of my ignoranceQuote:
Pyrrhonian Skepticism: This form of skepticisim concludes that we know nothing at all (not even that we know nothing). The Pyrrhonian Skeptic claims that we don't even know that we know nothing. The Pyrrhonian Skeptic rejects even this, and says that we know nothing, but we don't know that we know nothing.[/b]
but i have to conclude i know more then you because i know i know nothing e.t.c. however you think you know something but you know nothing but ignorance.Quote:
I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance.
Socrates[/b]
... what?
basicly, you know something: that everyone else (including yourself) knows nothing
forgive me, but isn't that a paradox, or prahapse and oxymoron?
how can you know that you know nothing?

Read the top is says that we dont know we know nothing. The point is everything is unknown like you wont truly know your not mentally ill or ignorant.Quote:

exept that you know nothing?
I'm afraid that it dosn't make much snece to me
you see, to know you know nothing is to know something
that of course negates the previus statment
this statement is false when proven true. see it always going to be true but it always going to be unknowable.Quote:

so you might not know you know nothing?
you our ignorant because their always going to be something unknowable like if your have a mental illness and that cause belife in god or your wrong or your ignorant.Quote:

or you know something?
