The reason i made this was to find out how many there are of us on the site.

((that and there will be future considerations of forming a Secret Army...Of the Night&#33)

Ehhhh... well, I wouldn't classify myself as strictly a nihilist, but I think I'm close enough. I do, however, think Nietzsche is an overrated ass. Heidegger makes some sense though.

Click Edit Post, then Full edit. there should be an option to add a poll somewhere at the top...
EDIT: Oh f$#& no, I was wrong. that was on the old forum software. Doesn't appear there's a way to do it on the new forum. Sorry.

Go to the options at the top of your thread, should be a way to do that in there.

yah I know what you mean...nihilism isnt really a regimented specific belief...im just wondering how many ppl are like you say "close enough". yah Nietzsche says a lot of things although imho he is wrong. He was pretty down on nihilism too. heidegger's k, sartre said some good things too i think.

yah i checked options Rage of P. but nah not there...i think the only way is to start the thread over again. i was trying to make it like the calling all atheists one with the one choice poll just to see how many ppl would say Yes they are nihilist.

      Yes!

I am a nihilist. There is no higher goal. Human life is just a piece of dust in a sandstorm of events after the big bang. All human morals are becouse of instinct though evolution and cultural evolution, so there is no 'true'/objective right or wrong.

Allso, we mean jackshit in the history and present of the universe, we are not the centre of the universe, we are not all unique little snowflakes, no, not even you christians. ^__^

Nihilism rocks You can still have fun even if you know that 'fun' are just a few chemicals in your head, that are probably in effect becouse something caused by evolution, like acting social and shit is fun, becouse we need to be social becouse humans live in groups. Yet that doens't make it less fun.

      Nihilism kicks ass 8)

.. that also means that you are not worth shit .. nothing and no one cares about you, your existence, your birth or your death, emotions and love can be considered as fake to a certain extend ... I sorta don't like that thought too much .. but I assume if one is really into nihilism, life is pretty easy to live for this person ..

Yeah... Nihilism sounds lazy. They don't even question anything; they just accept the worst view, it seems.
By the way, in some cultures, to be called a nihilist is an insult.

(A side note, I always think of The Big Lebowski when thinking of Nihlism. Those guys are my favorite characters, hah&#33

yeah in the 'bigger picture' I am worth jack shit, so are you. And people might care about be, but just becouse of their instinct and such. But that doesn't make it less fun and such, that's a commenly made misinterpertation of nihilsm.

I used to be nihilist...but that was when I used to think too much about stuff, and I'd always end up at the same conclusion: EVERYTHING IS POINTLESS. I got kinda suicidal and it was depressing so I contrived a reason to live.

Now I'm just kinda existentialist I guess you could say.

And you can forget your 'secret army'. What good is an army if all your soldiers are suicidal and don't believe in anything to fight for in the first place?

I see it's therefore not less fun, but it is accepting anything and everything, without grinding deeper into a circumstance's or whatever sources .. so it's like you can't have an supported opinion about stuff .. you just simply live ... and that's the aspect I don't like about the whole thing, because life could then also just be a lie ... I can't imagine living untrue.

Everything Is pointless, objectively. But in our 'human reality' and context, everything does has it's own subjective value, such as fun.

It doesn't depress me, it makes me feel good. There is nothing you have to do in the world, but you do have the choice to live a nice happy live. Allso, since all human values are subjective, it's more easy to see the how beautiful a city can be, or how beautifull a tree with millions of leaves can be. Just the fact that I know all I see is some nerve cells reacting to the reflecting light makes it even more beautiful.

      lolwhat?

nihilism can be used as a tool perhaps, but nationalism and religion work way better to get people to fight.

I would say I agree with some views and disagree with others, though I tend to think their is no real meaning or purpose to anything, I have to say though one of my favourite ever idea's on nihilism in actual religion, is by Friedrich Nietzsche which is he described, Christianity as a nihilistic religion because it evaded the challenge of finding meaning in earthly life, creating instead a spiritual projection where mortality and suffering were removed instead of transcended.
Life dreams and pain are all of the same thing in one way or another they are all unreal as they are existant they define the way you see things something very few can figure out

The only way I could ever become nihlist is if I convinced myself nothing exists.

I'm sort of the opposite of one. The past year I've come to the conclusion that existance is to special for it to not matter, and feeling this feels a whole lot better then feeling the absolute nothingness of nothing matters.
