The Signs of the Ends of times

I am just wondering what your religions or your personal opinions are about what the signs are of the ends of times and how many things we have left until christ comes again, if you dont believe in christ dont bother trying to argue it here.

A good sign for the end of the world is the fucking sun EXPLODING >: (

There are no signs, no spiritual at least. A big gamma radiation blast from space, now that's a good sign.

these are two interesting 2012 End of Time Links. Of course, there is a great deal of garbage mixed in, but good for sifting through.

One of my favorite particulars from the first site above is "My Brief Experience in Eternity and What I Saw" by Phil Kramer http://www.aculink.net/~catholic/africa.htm which describes the Day of Judgment and then goes on to desribe heaven, hell and purgatory ... inclusive of a Pet Heaven...

Well to be honest I don't believe time exists. So the idea of the 'end' of it seems interesting.

This is what I mean. It only seems to exist in our minds. This change has to occur within each person, it is not an external event, how could it be?

Well I believe time to be our little illusion so that we might live out our lives, scene by scence, second by second. Most of us find that fun.

well i agree that there really is no time... but it was just made up so things could be run with like business and stuff like that. but if they think stonehenge was made as like a calendar of sorts then.... i dunno. but its not the literal end of actual time, its just until christ comes. which in a way could mean that it is the actual end of time, because.. ya when he comes it will be for "time and all eternity".

Well I mean I do not choose to believe in time at all. Everything is happening at once, and we can experience any or all of that depending on what we choose. Future and past do not exist, just part of the illusion.
Oh and I don't believe jesus has to come back, he cannot live everyones lives for them, besides we are all exactly the same as jesus. We create our reality. We are God. Jesus was simply someone that realised the illusion of the physical world and wasn't scared to use that and let people know.
Oh this is all of course just myyyyyyy opinion hahaha

are you part of a religion or something? or are you just tight like that? it sounds interesting, but how would you explain all the miracles and stuff he did? it sounds to me like you think the world is like the matrix where if we realize its fake we can do whatever, true?

I do not follow a religion.
I choose what to believe what is the most fun for me to believe. That which is most fun for me to believe is that we live in a world of illusions, truth is expressed in it however the image is illusion. I believe us to all be One and thus all God, or the Is/Is not. Many people call it many things.
So Indeed, that which you choose to believe becomes your reality.

      Y2K not worry

Having survived Y2K, I thought there would be some drop off in apocalyptic fears.

If you are really worried, check out how many dates have previously been "established" for the end of the world.

      http://www.bible.ca/pre-date-setters.htm

End of world beliefs aren't limited to Christians (nor do all Christians believe in end times and the rapture). Some Hindus talk of the Kali Yuga, and the end of that age, but it may take 10,000 years. I'm sure you can also find Buddhist and Moslem sects that have their own end of the world dates.

Personally I think its a common form of projection from the repressed realization that the ego will die, combined with primitive aggression that wants to take everyone with you, when you go.

i understand this has probably come up before, but things change.
I know what are the 'signs of the last days.' In fact, according to the bible, we ARE in the last days. This is one of the main teachings in my religion.
Well here's proof from the bible:

This is when the apostles ask Jesus in the book of Matthew: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” (Exactly your question)

4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

Then hear the sign he gives: 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress."

This is talking about WW1 (and WW2) because it was the first WORLD war, not merely a conflict between two armies on the battlefield. 28 nations were involved and 14 million people were killed. WW2 followed with 59 nations involved, 50 million people killed.

Jesus goes on to say: "In one place after another pestilences."(Luke 21:11) The influenza proved this propheecy. When WW2 ended, some 21 million people died from the Spanish flu. SInce then, heart disease, cancer, AIDS, and other pestilences have killed hundreds of millions. A heavy toll of these is exacted every year.

Jesus continues: "There will be food shortages." (Matthew 24:7). The greatest famine in all history struck after World War 1. Another terrible one followed world war 2, and now malnutrition affects one fifth of the world's population. Annunally, some 14 million children die from malnutrition.

"...There will be great earthquakes." (Luke 21:11): Earthquakes after 1914-consider a few major ones. In 1915, in Italy, 32,610 lives lost; 1920, China, 200,000 killed; 1923, Japan, 143,000 killed; 1939, Turkey, 32,700 killed; 1970, Peru, 66,800 killed; 1976, CHina, 240,000 (some say 800,000) killed; 1988, Armenia 25,000 killed.

"Increasing of lawlessness." (Matthew 24:12) Lawlessness has run wild since 1914; and today it is just exploding. Murders, rapes, robberies, gang wars, they dominate the headlines and fill the newscasts. Politicians rip off the public, teenagers carry guns and kill, yada yada. In many areas it is not safe to walk the streets even in daytime.

"Anguish of nations, not knowing the way out. . . Men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth." (Luke 21:25,26) Well with all the problems in the world there is a lot of fear. One prominant scientist wrote: "We will ear fear, sleep fear, live in fear, and die in fear." And said U.S. News& Report, "The fact is that today the biggest single emotion which dominates our lives is fear." And " never before has mankind been as fearful as present," reported German magazine.

"In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here." (2 Timothy 3:1) The apostle Paul spoke of people "having come to be past all moral sence." He elaborated however on the moral breakdown he foretold for "the last days." It sounds like today's newscast. The scripture says: "Know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

"In the last days there will be ridiculers." (2 Peter 3:3) Newspapers, newscasts, magazines, books, and movies scornfully dismiss the bible and replace it with their own free-thinking propaganda, saying as Peter foretold, "Where is this promised presence of his? WHy, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all thingd are continuing exactly as from creation's beginning." -2 Peter 3:4.

"This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth..."
Well the people in my religion believe it or not have fulfilled this prophecy, preaching in all 230 lands.

"...Bring to ruin those ruining the earth." Greedy men have always been willing to ruin the earth for selfish gain, but never before this generation have they had the power to do so. Now, since 1914, modern technology has put that power into their hands, and they are misusing it. They are ruining the earth. Here are a few of the atrocities resulting: acid rain, global warming, holes in the ozone layer, dangerous pesticides, toxic dumps, garbage glut, nuclear waste, oil spills, raw-sewage dumping, dead lakes, destroyed forests, polluted groundwater, species endangered, human health damaged.

So as you can see, all these signs Jesus foretold have come true, so we are indeed living in "the last days" according to the bible. This is certainly a composite sign for Jesus's second presence.

I got some of this information from a 1993 article, so of course some statistics may be off, because it probably increased today.

Did you know that there is only one more thing before Jesus's presence? There is just one more prohecy and when it finally gets fulfilled, then Jesus will come. If you want to hear it jus tell me.

Oh yea by the way, if that wasn't enough, did you know that the bible even prophesied that the start of "the last days" began in 1914? It supports it chronologically. I'll also show you it if ya want. (By the way more about the last days are also prophesized in Daniel about the world powers but its too much to write).

Some good points, Lonewolf, but keep in mind that many of those prophecies were also true for even back in Jesus' day. I imagine lawlessness was even more rampant back then. And there've been diseases and famines all throughout history. For example, the Black Plague in the MIddle Ages devastated millions and millions, too.

well not all of Jesus's signs he prophecises were going on back then. This is not just a couple of the prophecies coming true, but this is all of them, it is a composite sign. The entire sign appears on a global scale. But the bible also prophesies chronologically that the last days began in 1914. Historians have viewed 1914 as a significant time, something different, when everything changed. There are some quotes about 1914 by some.

Not to offend. But what if you can't define your reality. If there are external factors that exist and are predetermined then you choosing to believe them or not arent going to cause them to be or not. Just like if you wanted me to exist or not exist, you can believe all you want that i dont exist, but i still exist. I don't think that defining your belief system on something that is fun is a good choice, but it is your choice and i don't mean to intrude, just wanted to voice my opinion ask where you came upon your belief system?

Though the quantitive measurement of time is artificial time itself is very much real and is actually a dimension. When one wishes to witness a comet, one must not only take into account the height, width, and depth of its position but also the time in which it will be visible from a specific position. As well, the effects of time can clearly be seen on matter and energy in everything from chemical reactions to positions of objects, as noted in the comet example.

I know what are the 'signs of the last days.' In fact, according to the bible, we ARE in the last days. This is one of the main teachings in my religion.[/b]
All of these events have been happening since the beginning of civilization. As said before, these things were even more common during the Middle Ages. As for the statement that the Bible predicts that end times began in 1914, the Bible also apparently predicted that it would end more than 1,000 years ago.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unfulfilled_h...s_by_Christians
These “signs” are so common that they are seen by every generation and believed to forecast this apocalypse in order to match up with people’s preconceived notions. I can’t name a single one of these events that hasn’t happened 1,000,000 times already.
      I can because I know I can.

I just wanted to clarify (if it hasn't been done already), that from a Christian standpoint, we're not waiting for the "End of Time" or "End of Days," but the return of Jesus Christ. Much of what has been said in the Bible, though, describes such radical changes that will take place that it's easy to see how it could be perceived to be an end.

there is much more that the prophesies I just said. You should really study the book of Daniel. It prophesized all the world powers. Heres just one brief scripture:

“‘As for these huge beasts, because they are four, there are four kings that will stand up from the earth." (this was said about Daniel's vision). And then it talks about all the world powers. It parrallels exactly.

If anyone wants to study the book of Daniel for yourself (or just to humor me if you will) I suggest you check out this study aid which you can get for free. The publication even goes into the hardest chapter in the bible, which is in Daniel, ch. 11.
It's called "Pay attenntion to Daniel's prophecy. You have to scroll down and click to see the address to write to.
