Thread: 5 things to make life better for all of us...

1. Spend 5 minutes at the beginning of each day remembering we all want
the same thing (to be happy and loved) and we are all connected.

2. Spend 5 minutes cherishing yourself and others. Let go of judgments.
Breathe in cherishing yourself, and breathe out cherishing others. If
the faces of the people you are having difficulty with appear, cherish
them as well.

3. During the day extend that attitude to everyone you meet - we are all
the same, and I cherish myself and you (do it with the grocery store
clerk, the client, your family, coworkers, etc.)

4. Stay in the practice, no matter what happens.

5. Speak to those things which are not as though they were.

I was thinking more along the lines of:

1. Be lazy.
2. Be empathetic.
3. Don't worry about anything an animal wouldn't worry about.
4. keep a clear conscience (ie don't regret anything, don't do anything you know you'll regret, don't regret not doing something either but at the same time don't not do anything you'll regret not doing. If that makes sense).
5. sometimes you just gotta say 'fuck it!'

I believe you are wrong their as I do not wish to be happy and loved and so I dont believe that I would make life better for others so in a way I beleive that though it may work for some those five things could also make life worse for others

As far as I can tell, the thing that makes people happy tends to be just helping others etc. It makes people feel good about themselves, and seems to make the helped person feel good too.

Of course, as darklordofall says, quite alot of people don't get happy from this. There is no one way for everyone to be happy. And some people wont be happy until they die...

Dam straight why would you want people apart from close friends to like you I mean all that happens is it suprises you when they're not what they say, pain is fun to give out, its one of the greatest pleasures in life, its the weak that try to hide from it and live in this stupid happy world with the lie of love

OK, so please explain this to me (and please be honest with yourself): does pain have a lasting pleasure for you, or is it only temporary? Do you need to keep doing it to feel good about yourself? And if so, why do you need to feel good about yourself; is there something you have been hiding from? The strong are those who are able to set aside their own selfish wants to help others. It is easy to please yourself, it is hard to help others for their own benefit. This is true love, and if you think it is a lie then you are only fooling yourself. The world is much bigger than your head.
