Spiritual Encouragement and Growth for the Normal Christian
Spiritual Encouragement and Growth for the Normal Christian Life
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:1
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14)
"For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).
'I cry to you my Lord, my rock!
Do not be deaf to me, for if you
are silent, I shall go down to the
pit like the rest. Hear my voice
raised in petition as I cry to you
for help, as I raise my hands, my
Lord, toward your holy of holies.'
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
"If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns?"
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?"
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Amen..

We all need to just accept him and be in his light! He is our true protection against the axis of evil and enemies of freedom and democracy!

How is it that I am a non-Christian, and I am a supporter of democracy and freedom? I don't think it is fair to say that only Christians are the good guys in this world.

Gwendolyn,
I'm sorry if I offended you. The purpose of this thread is to foster and encourage others in their spiritual pursuits. Since you say you are not Christian I can not understand by you replied in here. But anyhow, please know that in God’s eyes your disbelief is far more offensive to him. May I ask do you love the truth and freedom? Do you like kindness and love? God is all that and more. He can be your personal salvation. The Bible is not mere doctrine or dogma; it is the living word of God. It contains all of God’s divine essence, his wisdom and his fullness and richness. Do not underestimate his impact on your life.
Don’t take my word for it.
Please I urge you, if you can, to pray to him and ask him to show you the truth.

I never meant to offend you either. I also appreciate your concern for my soul, but I don't believe in God. Thanks for trying though. Also, as I recall, the forum that I posted in was the Religion/Spirituality forum, and if I posted in your thread, I thought I had something relevant to bring to the table. Just because I do not subscibe to your beliefs does not mean I am not spiritual. I was merely saying that your statement was clearly erroneous. Christianity is not the 'one sacred road' to freedom.
Actually, it is crazy that you would even say that Christianity is a religion that is based upon freedom, because it restricts people in every aspect of life. Oh, and how can God be all loving if he sends people to hell for things that he essentially creates them to do?
Also, I refuse to take the bible as the word of God when God clearly did not write the Bible. Tell me, did this book float down from heaven on a pillow carried by Saint Peter? No. Man wrote the Bible, and people are flawed. I could just as readily take the advice of The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy as the word of God.
I respect the fact that you have something to stand for, but work out the quirks in your argument beforehand before you go alienating other's beliefs by telling them that being a Christian is the only way to democracy and freedom.
