      The Vatican's Next Top Pope

      So there's a new head child moles- uh, leader of the Catholic church. Pope Francis, aka Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina. "Francis" comes from St. Francis of Assisi.

      Fun facts: he has a Master's degree in Chemistry and worked as a chemical technician before becoming a priest, is the first South American Pope, and the first Jesuit Pope.

      Also, he has antiquated views on homosexuality and gay marriage, but unfortunately that just comes with the whole "being Catholic" thing.

      Well, I'm sure as hell not a Catholic, so most of what he does is not going to be very significant to me. I'm really just waiting to see what he does with the sexual abuse cases. Pretty much my opinion of him will be formed by weather or not he punishes the perpetrators, preferably by excommunication followed by cooperation with authorities in criminal investigations.

      It's doubtful. His history is racier than Benedict's. Apparently he was involved in Argentina's military dictatorship and may have assisted in the kidnapping and murder of a couple Jesuit priests.

      Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
