Tell me about Order Magick

to add some eqlibrium into this section. What do you think about order magic? Is just somekind of bullshit that's made from illusions, sorcecy nodes, tintlight illumination, heavenly plainy angelhierarchies and doublestandards and other island based water and metamagic.. or is there somekind of mechanistic metasystem in reality, like ultimate source code? Or is it bunch of competiting bullshitters with their own mutually conflicting orders?

I getting kind of tired to this Matrix version 1.0 for everyone sees that emperor wears no clothes and mandatory happiness and undeveloped alien unfamiliar wishfullment doesn't strike true. But before that version 2.0 or 1.1 or 1.shdck (i'd like to consider booting few new branches instead of just linear update) I'mma trying to take some tranquility and small ear for my bitterness (to invoke the lightning spark tofuel creation) and take a perfect moment for starting a new. So no funnybusiness :shadewink: untill some funny feels real and not just fucked up headless chickenshit hysteria or talentshow wannabie posing. ++ if you happen to find the Funny tell her not to steall the whole [insert your favorite curse] show.

So how aout the Catering version of five elementals. Pop seems truer than old shitstems. Water=Island was something like illusions, phantasms and metastuff. In homm4 They used it as Order magic to temperate chaos (otherwise elements were the same) and in MOM elements stayed the same but Water was portreyed as sorcery (still coverning metastuff and illusions)..

And for oldies goldies,, there's always earth+fire+water+air + fifth (sometimes spirit, someone calles it soul. someother magic, buddhistic view was that it was nothing or space were other elements existed. Last element to disintegrte during dying)

Chinics use offcourse theyr version of metal, wood, fire, air and water (dividing the western earth into two qualities for different reasons9 ... they even have their fifth season9 between every two. So this exists five times a year. Now i'm getting sidetracked so,,, enough with five. Invisible cells were based artound the order of five. so we/you/me/any coluld give this a go. Or start conversing around the different orders and order systems.

Um... I'm not going to pretend I understood anything you just posted.

But Chaos Magic isn't defined as the opposite of Order Magic. Chaos Magic is simply a pure form of magic free of the sentimentalism of other traditions. Chaos Magic sees magic for what it truly is, which is that the outer landscape mirrors the inner landscape, so to affect your outer landscape you must properly cultivate the inner landscape. The only thing that really separates chaos magic from other orders is that chaos magicians understand you must use believe as a tool to cast a spell, but that doesn't mean what you believe is actually true.

i happen to know what chaos magic is in the most defined sense. Though it's hard and pointless to nail down into one definition. Like anarchy and most of those things that should be practiced rather than just endlessly wordplayed in Academian pubs.

in common mindset thoug chaos is as force that most people contrast with order or law. It's not even completely misunderstood consept in magical circles O
Since chaos magic supposedly gives it's practicioner, be she magician, chaotee, adept or any title she refers herself, freedom to chooce the directions from witch she draws together her paradigm and style, THEN it's not uncommon that it's partially or fundamentally based on worldview (fictional, arcane or occult) where chaos opposes and fullfills order (or law)

And still with given freedom of past practisioner of pure xaos (what ever that was) I'm moving to study, not the number five but five elemental systems and paradigms (I'm quite queint qith four elemental ones). So in this post cyberpunk age I'm thinking that Magic the Cathering is rather better point, forgiving the fact that it's not so occult, to start my next step than ewfa + spirit system that seems to hold no true roots for pwning the fifth and claiming that it's always been the spirit. It just one way of determining the pointing triangle of five pointed star. I don't stop to get amazed how well marketed and widespread is this belief of spirit being the fifth element and this system being old as Theba. I haven't ran into any old five element system that hold the same definition to fifth element. It seems to be power of practicioner or her order to define the fifth and the way where star points.

Plus in a pentagle, penmtagram, pentagon systems, there is not opposites of elements, rather relations between them 8and that's the beauty of it9. You need dual number based system to have clear opposites.

That said, since Cathering many other games (like HOMM4 and Master of Magic before) loaned their five elemental systems into computer world. Chaos stayed chaos, plains stayed life or other seemingly goodalligned element, swamps stayed death or other seemingly rather low and grim, forests stayed nature or other spirit correspondent type of magic, but (and here this got my attention) Island based magic (that of blue and watery) that coverned illusions, dispellings and other subtlety as well as hodgepodgery changed her name into both order magic and sorcery. Illusionary nature and most fundamentaly coverning metastuff remained but the fogs of enchantment turned into rock solid law with anyone raising a brow.

So for me this flow and fluxity gives this thricenamed one fifth the selfproven rigth to represent the fifth element :P

Plus I love Michale Moorcocks eternal champion series where gods of order and chaos used to rule every version of his multiverse.

I'm not trying to define the word chaos but I don't believe games and fiction is a satisfactory way to understand the subject. This video is what serves my definition of Chaos Magic and it does not appear the word is being used in contrast with order. It appears a term used for the most direct understanding of magic.
