For those of us that are visual interpreters:
The Bible's 1,189 chapters are plotted along this horizontal axis at the bottom of the image, with each bar's length determined by the number of verses.
The arcs above the graph show the 63,779 cross-references between each chapter.
It almost looks like one monolithic volume
Volume as in noise, or volume as in tome?
I'm not sure what the point is that you are making.
Not really trying to make any "point"... it's just a visual representation of the bible. It's a pretty intricate work is all.
Ah- gotcha.
The more intricate it's makeup the harder the memeplex is to kill.
For example, if someone were to graph out how self-referencial Kanye West is... :cheeky:

I think it's kind of cool. I like new and interesting representations of data. Like the "facebook friends" graph by location that generated an entire world map (minus china and parts of russia hehe)
I'd like to see somebody do this with Harry Potter.
Very interesting. I'm guessing that longest bar would probably be verses from Psalms or Ezekiel.

That depends on what "cross-references" mean. Is it the annotations from some versions of the bible? I doubt the original books had [citations] :)
Jesus Christ (no pun intended) I just found it to be an interesting piece of material that shows
1. The Bible is intricately self-referential.
and
2. SOMEBODY out there actually took the time and effort to catalog such instances
