If you love someone without being in love, then it's more of like when you love a friend. I would say falling in love is more than just loving the person you're with. It is loving them so much that you'd do anything for them, and you're happy just to be with them. I'd call that falling in love.

I would agree, but I must also say from personal experience it is possible to love more than one person at the same time. I delt with that dilema all summer, and now I think I have it sorted out, but I still regret having to break one of their hearts..

It's just the nature of our universe. Division is the cause of all desire and sorrow while union is the cause of all bliss. The rest is just specifics.

Mature people don't fall in love.

I would say falling in love can have two meanings. There is such thing as true love, but often there can be the illusion of falling in love. Recently, I fell in love with a girl, or that was what I thought. The real fact was, I got over it after a few weeks. I was in love with the idea of being in love. This is a common trap people fall into, and is the cause of many short lived relationships.
Question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
      Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.

I agree, definitely not all people know if they are really in love or not. Some are as you say, and some are just in lust. But I think most people find the best match for them eventually.

I wonder when I was divided. Oh, right - I was probably born like this.

Really I don't think people have the authority to say that some types of love aren't actually love.

For example, falling in love with a person who is very physically attractive but really quite shallow and uninteresting... well, that's still love. Just one end of the same spectrum.

Many people say they have fallen in love purely because of personality but that's a lie in the vast majority of situations, though the person may often be lying to themselves too. Physical appearance is also a very large factor, if not the main one...

      Yes. I agree
I have divided "love" into 3 different subclasses:

      1) Physical attraction - Basic urge to reproduce
      2) Emotional Attachment - You like be with that person as often as possible
      3) Friendship - You like the personality of the other person

Which of these 3 (combinations are possible) applies to you is up to each person individually to decide.
      That's what I think anyway.

Yeah I think that's true, although I'd say that emotion is perhaps a sort of subset of the other two types...

One thing I'd add is that physical attraction isn't enough; just thinking somebody is very attractive and wanting to sleep with them isn't love. For me it only counts when you get an emotional fixation with the person. But the causal factors can vary in the way I said above.

The easiest way is to fall in love again and keep moving on. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I like what the Oracle in the Matrix said. "When you're in love, no one can tell you you are. You just know."

Love has so many meanings, which do you mean?

So many people try to keep score, only giving as much love back as they receive, battling for love amongst each other.

It is as if they think there's only so much love inside them and they need to get refilled again or something. There is infinite love inside all of us, for ourselves and the world around us (synonyms)

For me love is means the love between a man and a woman.
The "love for the world" I call appreciation and admiration. Unless you mean real love, in which case I call it drugs.
