My girlfriend hates dreaming

I have talked to her about this forum and she has shown no interest. She'd rather not dream at all. She doesn't wish to remember any of her dreams. When I asked her why, she said that they are always nightmares. She doesn't remember ever having a dream that wasn't a nightmare. I read her a few of my dreams that had scary elements in them, but she said her's are always about death. She said she used to dream that her mother (who passed away when my girlfriend was 14) was being beaten and murdered in front of her. She's only recalled 3 or 4 in the 6 months I've known her and she is always moaning in distress in her sleep during them. The last one she had she said that she had lost all her money. Is there anything that can be done?

I know she has a lot of stress in her life. It seems that she puts stress on herself and gets stressed out over small things.

Hmm, it's hard to get someone to be interested in lucid dreaming in real life, I've succeeded in getting my friend involved in it, because he had a pretty awesome ld, and the next day he was like 'dude, I had an awesome lucid dream, lucid dreams are so amazing' but before that he didn't really care much at all about them.

You could help her through her nightmares though, just try to convince her that in dreams your environment represents your inner feelings, if your inner feelings were to change then the dream would, even though it may not appear that way for a moment or so, courage can make you powerful, feeling helpless makes you weak, feeling happy cheers up the environment and can make it lighter and less dreary.

And stress also effects the dream world, often stress is worry, and worry is well practically asking for trouble in dreams.

a lot of people use lucid dreaming as a way to help get rid of nightmares. I'm not exactly sure how they make the nightmares go away permanently rather than during that one lucid dream, but I know people have done it.
