      aehm.. didn't read this article. but didn't insanity imply no jail sentence at all...? Straight to psychiatric facility?

      In fact I think insanity pleas almost always lead to a much longer period of detention; therefore lawyers only say their client is insane if they actually are, it's totally counter-productive otherwise.

      there can be no way that this guy will be released after the 21-year life sentence. my thinking is that it will be life long either way (repeatedly extended). I just remember reading it will either be in prison or in a clinic. I most certainly don't know the exact preferences of the two choices, but it wouldn't surprise me, if he's trying for the lifelong psych ward.

      edit: furthermore, I feel like expressing an urgent WHAT THE FUCK?!? about the whole situation right now. ugh, inconceivable.
