I reckon you should try Murakami: Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. The book is split in two by chapter, and half takes place in reality and the other in the protagonist's subconscious...

Part 1 is just over 1000 pages, but I'm liking it so far. And it's very detailed, though you get used to it pretty fast. How's the WotSP progressing -- still holding up good?
