Well as you can see, I am also a posting procrastinator

My experience with insomnia was that many nights, I would lay in bed and some kind of inner disturbance would keep my awake. That would lead to getting stuck in sleep paralysis while awake and moving around in bed.
What helped me was to learn how to control my breathing before bed. Also, my insomnia was wrapped up in a lot of negative feelings and thoughts. If that is the case, taking some time before bed to use your guide your intention toward positive thoughts and feelings may help.
The medication may effect your dreams but expectations can also effect dreams. If you expect the medication to effect them, they probably will.
Above all, trust your intuition. As you lay there at night, your mind might jump here and there. Just let it go and allow it to run around with different ideas.
      Good luck!

      Hey sterling,
      The professor eh? lol
ok, well what kind of insomnia are you experiencing? Maybe just give me a run down of what happens when you experience this and how often it happens? I would say the general principles and practice of LDing will help, definitely; however, there could be other things going on. A lot of insomnia is caused by stress which LDing can very much help with. So, get back to me on the specific experiences and we will go from there.
      thanks for asking!

      Hi SterlingCooper!

I'm so sorry about the nightmares, no fun. And insomnia is no fun either! The good news is that LDs can help you face and conquer your nightmares. As far as medication, it can hinder LDs, but it depends on the drug and the amount. More good news: one of the apprentices in my Intro class, Chimpertainment, has experience with overcoming nightmares via lucid dreaming. You might want to give him a shout, and just tell him I sent you. We'll find a way to help you achieve your goals! And welcome to DV
