I tried this method just last night and it worked!!I didn't really expect it to work but it did.
I went to bed after concentrating on my hands and and telling myself next time when I see my hands I will be dreaming.I did this for almost 10 minutes and went to sleep thinking about dreaming.Then I woke up at 4:40 am and wrote my dreams and then started reading my dream journal and did lots of reality checks.I went back to bed after about 50 min and tried the MILD technique.Then I started dreaming and after a while something weird happened.I was in front of a house and there was a door and I knew behind the door there would be stairs.Then the dream started fading so I realized I was dreaming!!After this the dream was very unstable and I was half awake but I imagined the stairs and they appeared again though blurred and unstable and started to crawl.I concentrated on the stairs and I managed stabilize the dream and there I was in my lucid dream!!!Unfortunately it didn't last because I looked at my hands and didn't look like in real life so I tried to make them and said out loud :this is a dream nothing of this is real.But there were lots of dream characters and I started arguing with them.A girl even came and split one of my fingers in 2.LOL I was pretty angry with the characters so probably that's why I woke up
