Yesterday was an average day, went to school, got a haircut, etc. I took a nap around 6 and woke up around 10 and then got ready to sleep again and read for a few hours. Around one, I tried to fall asleep.

A peculiar thing happened, I slipped right into a lucid state, but I couldn't see it entirely. I somehow knew I was dreaming, as things were happening that I wasn't thinking about, yet it was as if the picture was being displayed to my brain, but my eyes couldn't see it. I woke up, and found I had sleep paralysis. First time, so it was rather scary. After it wore off, I found that all I had to do was close my eyes and I would slip into this lucid state about whatever I was currently thinking. I repeated this about 8 times before I decided to read again and finally fell into a real sleep.

I figured it might be hypnagogic illusions, but they happened instantly, and usually I have to lay down for awhile before they come. And I've had a few lucid dreams before for background.

Anybody else experience this before ?
