Hi,

Just wanted to say that after a couple of months of dedicated effort (since 7/29/09, to be precise), I had an absolute lucid dream!

Prior to this, I had had only five others, four of which lasted for about two seconds, and one of which lasted maybe five minutes.

Recently I read Naiya’s DILD & WILD Secrets here, plus I discovered that the guy next to me at work is a master lucid dreamer. He has four or five LDs per night and doesn't comprehend that everyone doesn't always realize she is dreaming.

So he and I have been discussing lucid dreaming lately, and I also took Naiya's advice to devote myself to noticing things. I announce them to myself mentally during the day: "Putting on sock--turning on radio--angry at Bob--feel knot in my gut--putting on shoes--opening door--sitting in chair--seeing painting--red dress," etc. Whatever it is.

I won't tell you the whole dream, but last night (an hour ago), I dreamed I saw a stuffed animal of mine on a chair in someone else's house. That seemed odd, and I wondered if I was dreaming, but concluded there was no way.

Just to be sure, however, I looked at a newspaper on the ground and saw it was addressed to me: LWA. I looked away on purpose and looked back and this time it was addressed to PEARLY GATES (my unconscious definitely has a sense of humor), or something like that.

I AM DREAMING!!!

So then I jumped up and down and saw I was jumping higher than I could in real life; I touched the ceiling.

Then I considered leaping out the window and flying, but decided to reserve that for when I'm a more practiced LDer, just to be on the safe side.

Then I recalled my list of things I want to do in a LD, including a long list of people I'd like to have, uh, quality time with. For some reason, none of them seemed appealing, or I couldn't figure out exactly how to make that happen, so instead I announced, "I would like a dream lover to come through that door," and immediately he did, and immediately we did. I announced, "I would like [a certain outcome of this enjoyable activity] to occur," and it did!

And then he and I were elsewhere, and I was no longer lucid, and the dream went on for quite some time in a fairly vivid manner.

I did it!!
