I have been trying to Lucid Dream for a week now, and I finally got a small glimpse of what it's like. First I would like to thank "Shift"'s daily dream sign. It was my first time trying this method of gaining awareness with the sign, and it was a great success. When I first read the sign "bathroom" I thought to myself "lame.... what are the chances that this is going to be useful in a dream, I want to be flying on clouds and other crazy exotic things" Sure enough, the experience started in my bathroom. Being very serious about my reality checks recently really broke the lucid barrier, as well as the gained awareness of the dream sign. Previous to this dream in the morning I thought I was screwed because in the dream before this one I was in my kitchen and thought to myself (for some lame reason) no way this is a dream, why bother doing reality checks. 2 seconds later I woke up for about 10 seconds and thought to my self "DAMNED! SO CLOSE! FALSE AWAKENING I HEARD OF THIS CRAP". I quickly fell back asleep and then I was in the bathroom sitting on the toilet seat. This is when it started to happen. After about 1 or 2 seconds I was completely aware of the fact I was in the bathroom and took no hesitation on reality checking. I stuck my finger into my hand and it popped out the other side. I wasn't amazingly surprised, more relived that finally I was lucid. Then involuntarily I started levitating and some force was slowly pushing me into the wall. Knowing it was a dream and I could do anything I pressed my hands together like I was praying and went straight into the wall and out the other side. Overlooking my backyard I was just about to get my dream going, only to be interrupted by the feeling of my waking body. I tried rubbing my hands together for awareness but I faded away to fast. I set 3 alarms in the morning, and the sound the alarm woke me completely from the dream. I tried going back to sleep but no success on recovering it .

Lame ending I know but this really has given me a lot of needed confidence. For experienced dreamers out there I was wondering about 2 things.

1. Should I still be setting my alarm to wake me a couple hours before I get up? I fall asleep at 11:00, and set it at 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00. Are these times correctly set, do I need more alarms?? Should I be using a program instead to increase awareness in the dream?

2. Methods of Dream Control, what could I have done differently in the situation of flying over my backyard to increase my awareness? Maybe feel the air... the heat to give me a idea more of where I am? I need some help!

Overall I am really glad I found this site. Users here are very insightful and nice. Thank you so much and I look forward to more exciting, longer experiences. So thank you all for the tutorials and etc!

Special thanks to Shift, thank you for those daily dream signs! Might have been the extra awareness I needed.
