Well haven't posted in awhile and just got my first WILD last night so going to share my experiences and what helped achieve it!
At first when I started trying to WILD I followed the guides to the letter but I started changing the way I do things a few months ago.
I wanted to WILD without WBTB so instead of trying to get to the dream stage I started just seeing how far I could get with WILD's, how quickly I could get there and could I get to full numbness almost SP, force myself up, wait 10 minutes and do it again.
I did this for a few months and I didn't achieve a Lucid dream however I could get to SP very fast first thing at night without WBTB. Took me lots of practice but I could achieve it and I wouldn't go beyond because I got bored and fell asleep by accident.
This all changed last night. I did my normal get to edge of SP, fully wake up, wait some time, do it again, get drink then go to bed. However when I was sleeping I all of a sudden woke up! I was confused why did I wake up like that? And realized the cat was trying to find a place to sleep underneath my blanket. So I checked the time, 4:34 (around there), made room for the cat and then decided to try the WBTB/WILD.
So I took my previous experience, got into my position and started. It actually went by pretty quickly, I thought I could reach SP at a quick state but this was mental. I flew to that stage and beyond. However there was one quirk. I didn't stay up long enough (10-20 minutes people suggest from what I read), I was only up for 1-2 and realized I was drifting off to sleep. I couldn't stop it so I cried a little inside and prepared for sleep when.....
BANG! An environment. This really confused me. People said things were real looking but this? This was like I was awake. I was in my apartment, no one was home and it seemed like it was a pretty hot day. Things were so realistic! Like real life realistic! Like you look at your desk right now realistic!
I felt quite a lot of excitement but doubt kind of kept it to a manageable level.
Anyway I wasn't sure if I was dreaming, doubt was there that I was so I played it cool and walked around. Movement seemed real enough so I continued on my way, went to my door but realized I had a clock in the living room. Checked it, looked away, checked again. Time was different.
I WAS WILDING! or more specifically in a lucid dream. I opened the front door to the hall and ran down to the back door. Caught up in the moment I was just like "Hey door over there, do I want to slow down to open it? Na" *makes miming action of opening door, door swings open*
I opened windows, doors, garbage cans while I was running down to the parking lot just for run. It was amazing. Got out to the parking lot and tried to fly. I could hover on my tips of my toes which totally sucked and tried this a few times but maybe I didn't truly accept it as a dream >.>. I then tried to create fire but nothing happened either.
So I thought to myself "Maybe if I had a source of fire I could control it!" and sniffed around for BBQ or something roasting in someones backyard. I found a lady roasting something which smelled real but I totally forgot about the fire.
This lady was hot. My very first thought was "Well since this WILD has lasted this long" (it lasted around 10-15 minutes I think, didn't check time when I was woken up) "I might as well take advantage of what I have.".
So with little manner I reached for her chest when all of a sudden she grabs my arm! "You ain't Kelly." she drawls with this strange look on her face. She wasn't mad just looked annoyed. I tried to pull my arm from her but she wouldn't let go! When all of a sudden it hurt a bit! Actually pain? Then everything went black. No senses what so ever, to tell you the truth it felt like I was trying to WILD again and realized I was awake but why? I shook myself awake past SP and realized my pup of a dog wanted to play with me so took over the cats spot and was gnawing on my arm.
I was so sad but so elevated from my first WILD.
Sorry for the text wall but wanted to get everything I missed in the past few months that I was doing. WILDs without WBTB I believe are very possible, you just need a lot of practice. WILDs with WBTB are very good and I would think even with little practice someone could succeed very easily!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT ARE WILDING.
I hope my experience can help a bit!
