I almost didn't think lucid dreaming was possible!

I just joined this site because I recently had a lucid dream. I've read quite a few books on it but I thought it would never happen to me because it seems like even the most ridiculous things can happen and I'm still convinced that I'm awake. But wow, was I wrong. (although parts of this are embarrassing I'm just going to give you the whole story, ) One night I started to have a dream that I was getting married to one of my co-workers. After we got married we went to pick out furniture and she commented on how cute of a couple we made and told me she loved me. I almost said I love you too when I realized that there is no possible way in hell I am awake right now. Not only are we both females, but she is the most annoying person I have ever met in my entire life. At first I remember standing there confused as to why I would ever think about getting married to her and thinking about throwing her off a cliff that I could create, since it's a dream and , and I wouldn't really be hurting anyone. But then it really hit me - I'm dreaming. I'm lucid dreaming? I didn't think this was possible. I got so excited I felt myself start to wake up so I looked at my hands, and they looked exactly like they did in real life. I thought that was weird since I'd read that your hands are supposed to look "weird" but mine looked 100% like my own hands. But then I remembered I was dreaming so I tried to think of something I'd want to do that I could only do in a dream, but then I couldn't think of anything to do so I took off running in the opposite direction of my "wife". She then screamed at me and called the cops on me but by the time I got outside I just kept running. The grass was lime green and everything was so bright. I started bouncing really high in the air and grabbing onto tree branches. Then I heard the cop cars, but they went in a different direction. So I kept jumping up and hanging off tree branches, this is until I grabbed a branch that was way too high and got scared looking down at the ground. So I created a hot guy to help me down. (lame, I know.) We walked for a while and held hands and talked about stuff that I don't remember. Then he asked me to prove to him I was dreaming so I turned to this girl who was walking past us on the sidewalk. She was Mexican and she had long black hair and a purple shirt on I focused on her and as she turned around to look at me her hair slowly changed into dred-locks and she changed into a Jamaican man with an open purple shirt, then the Mexican girl came out from behind a building and interlocked arms with the man and they walked off together. It might sound stupid or simple, but it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. Then me and my "dream man" walked for a while. I remember I kept looking at my hands to keep myself dreaming but I could feel something felt very wrong, and I thought I could feel my phone vibrating next to me in real life. But then it started to hurt and I was getting confused. Finally I couldn't hold on any longer, and when I woke up my arm was asleep. Hah.

Welcome to DV, Ideomania! Lol, that was one the best and funniest first-time LD's I've ever read. 'so I took off running in the opposite direction of my "wife" ' beautiful Anyway, congrats on the dream! Regarding the asleep arm, it's always interesting to me how a discomfort felt in real life can be felt in the dream too. Always happens to me when I have to pee real bad.

Wow great first LD. My first wasn't too bad either, but wouldn't measure up to that. And it's not dumb to want a hot guy in your dream. I try this often when I'm LD. But THAT is so hard! I can do so many other things, just not that. I'll think really hard and some ugly person'll show up or some person I know. I don't have enough imagination. But you also read about it before your first, so that's an advantage and explains why you had a great first LD.
