Yay, so I just had my first lucid the other night. Well, not really at night. I wake up at 5:00 am to get ready for school, so I get up shower, brush teeth, hair ,etc. Then I'm a bit tired so I go back to bed. That is when I had my lucid dreams. And according to wikipedia, doing something like "Wake-back-to-bed" is quite successful. Lucky me, right?

It was sort of accidental at best. I have been reading Stephen LaBerge's book on lucid dreaming and in it he talked about the WILD Technique. I thought it was interesting, so I did the thing where I counted to one hundred like: 1, I'm dreaming. 2, I'm dreaming, etc. I made sure that every time I blew out, I said I'm dreaming. I hoped to sort of link the action with the words so that maybe I said I'm Dreaming in an actual dream just because of the repetition or the action (blowing out). And it worked! Twice it one night actually. It was low level, but a great first step for me.

During that I also tried paying attention to the shapes in my "mind's eye" and see where that went, but at best it helped me get to sleep, which is a good thing.

My third lucid dream, my best so far, was sort of funny. It actually spawned from a false awakening which I thought was funny. But here it is:

I "woke up" and looked at my clock. It said 7:20, and I thought, "shit, I'm going to be late for school.". So I quick try to find some clothes (only a few of which I have in real life, lol) and before I know it I'm in a car on my way, and then tada in my classroom. I just sort of chill there until I notice butter on the desk next to me. That's right. Butter. I thought, "Why the hell would butter be on a desk...I might be dreaming.". Of course, I blew the dreaming idea out the window. Until, that is, I saw a newspaper on the next desk and I decided, "Well I should just do a state test". It scared the shit out of me. I read a headline, and read it again. Of course it's different, but it still scared me because I JUST realized I was dreaming. I try to take of control over the dream, but it is fairly mid-level I guess (Better than the previous two that night).

With my lack of lucidity and practice the dream was soon lost, but it was amazing.
