After taking advice and deciding to stop thinking about lucid dreaming, I've had two consecutive nights of it.
3/23/08: A Hop, Step and a Speak, DILD
This starts with me in bed. I wake up and try to turn on my light. It flickers and I decide to whistle. When I can't, I check my hand and find it deformed. Thus I realize I am dreaming and make a mental note not to do anything too extreme for the time being.
Approaching my door, I think to myself that I'd like to try turning into a Borg, a cybernetic race of aliens from "Star Trek". Google it. I stand in front of the door and say, "When I open this door, I will be Borg." I close my eyes and walk through. When they open, I'm still human. Oh well. I walk out to my kitchen and look out my window, before turning around and heading for my living room.
Then I decide I want to fly. This is ironic considering my fear of heights. But I run through my living room and take to the air, going through my wall (but never actually experiencing it) and levitate outside a good 30 feet in the air. Drifting down, I want to change my location to the forest of an extrasolar planet from another dream but decide not to. Landing on the ground, I look up at the sky and see the darkened image of an Iwo Jima class starship (from a Star Trek game. Google it.) but it fades.
Then I realize: I'm naked. But, it's a dream, so who cares?
I head down the street, walking. I pass my friend Alyssa's house and think of having an intimate encounter with her, since she's moving soon. Alas, I decide not to and I continue down the street.
I play a quick game with my right hand, where as I bump my fingers together from the pinky to the thumb, the connecting pair fuse together.
At the corner I crouch down and attempt to to Borg, but fail again. So when I get up, I'm on the other side of the street by the firehouse at my corner.
"Can I see my Dream Guide?" I call out. A muffled voice replies "No", but I can't tell for sure. I ask again, but no response. So I say, "Can you send me a dream character?"
From around the corner comes my friend Bobby. He is known for carrying all of his books all day in school. Here, he's wearing a blue t-shirt and dribbling a basketball. He says, "Your Dream Guide doesn't want to come out until you're ready." Or he may have said until I'm 40, but I doubt that one. I confirm the message.
Suddenly, I'm in my school hanging sideways in the air. Hovering in the air are the words "Da Kung Fu Java". "Da" comes from the Daft Punk song "Da Funk", and Kung Fu and Java are meerkat groups. My brother Scotty and Bobby are both there, and Scotty starts groping my butt. I watch all this in third person but feel the gropes. I call out for him to stop but he won't, so I abort the dream.
This one seems to be a continuation of a previous dream, since it too was in my school. But I was the one wearing the blue t-shirt.
The entire time, I kept looking at my hands to make sure I'm dreaming.
