Hello All,
I had my first intentional lucid this morning! By that I mean, this was the first lucid I've had after studiously practicing my techniques, RCs, and dream recall for the past two weeks. Here's how it went down:
Last night around 11:30, I smoked a bit of Calea Z and took a 100mg Tryptophan capsule. I'm not entirely sure if this aided me at all in my lucid dream because I'm not sure how long the effects last. My dream happened later this morning, around 9:30, so perhaps it was all me.
My dream started out normal enough -without me lucid, that is. I was in a house that doubled as my regular work office in waking life. The house felt entirely different, like maybe it was in a different country. Germany comes to mind, but I'm not sure why. Everybody from my office was there, but we were all set up in a dining area with a bunch of tables and computers. It actually reminded me of a LAN party set-up. I came into work and saw that my brand new computer (which I actually got in real life last week) had been taken apart and somebody had instead placed our server computer where my computer had been. I got really angry and was looking around the office/living area, asking who had done it. While saying this, I was holding up a screw, which I guess was a piece from my dream computer. Suddenly, a black guy came into the office through the front door. He approached me, looking slightly pissed. He said he had a meeting with me and we had to "fix" his order. Being pissed about my computer, I lied and told him I already had a meeting with somebody else. He stalked off somewhere.
It was at this point that I woke up. My eyes were still closed and I focused solely on getting myself back into the dream. I concentrated on the screw I had been holding and suddenly, I was dreaming again! This time, however, I was in a room, but I knew it was a room in the house were my office was. I immediately recognized I was dreaming, which made me so happy that I was grinning like a madwomen. Seriously, if my boyfriend had been looking at my sleeping face I'm pretty sure it would have been smiling, too.
Anyway, I looked around at my surrounding, but I saw that they were kind of blurry so I looked down at my hands to "orient" myself in the dream. When I looked back up, everything was crystal clear and vivid! I marveled at the wood grain of the dresser in the bedroom. I even walked over to it and examined my reflection in the mirror above the dresser. My reflection, as I already supposed, was dark, blurry, and distorted. I could see in my reflection that I was wearing a brown fitted t-shirt with a creme-colored flower pattern over the front. There was also a saying on my shirt that kept changing. It changed at one point, and I could read the saying perfectly. I remember thinking to myself that I wanted to remember that phrase when I woke up. I wasn't able to, but I know it was a two-line phrase that rhymed and had the word "you" in it. Weird, eh?
It was at this point that I woke up. Even though the LD was relatively short, it's a step in the right direction and it was just the boost I needed to keep myself on track for more!
Thanks for reading.
