Hey, my name is Luke i'm 19. |
I have had many a drunken lucid dream. It's not that you cannot have one when drunk, more that alcohol supresses your REM sleep - but then as we all know you don't only dream in REM sleep |
So it was probably luck. Unless you're a special individual where alcohol increases your REM? |
I meant luck, because since it suppresses his REM sleep, it was luck that he got lucid in that time. I don't mean some super incredible luck, just... luck. |
Alcohol usually helps me LD too, but I haven't been drunk, so small amounts may surfice. |
I don't usually remember dreams from my earlier periods of REM after having some drinks, but if I get enough sleep it has a rebound effect and I seem to have epic dreams towards the end of my night's sleep. Just a good reason to spend a night at the bars with some buddies every so often, just call it research |

doesn't alcohol make you sleep harder/deeper? |
i think so, whether thats good or bad though i dont know lol |
Were you drinking red wine at all? I have read that the melatonin in it increases REM intensity. Haha, as it goes I have a cheap bottle of red wine opened next to me, I'm testing it out. 'caves de france', 3 quid lol. |

When im drunk, i always have these extremely vivid dreams and remember most of them. Its wierd because ive read that it should be the opposite. |
no wine, it was all spirits |
My first long one was in a very drunken sleep. |
ok, have to try LD while being drunk then. |
Alcohol suppresses REM sleep in the first part of the night (2 to 3 hours).. after which the sedative effects lessen & sleep becomes shallower and disrupted.. It's during this shallow sleep you get REM rebound and you experience intense & vivid dreams .. |
