In most of my LDs, I'm just semi-lucid. But in the rare times that I've been clearly openly lucid (I literally think to myself, "Wow, I know I'm still dreaming, but this feels totally real. Time to party!") have all been during a false awakening. Like the regular dream melts into a false awakening and then I become lucid.
Ok, in a really embarassing example, I was making out with a famous actor in my bed (I wasn't lucid yet). Then I thought I woke up (it was dark), but I could still feel the guy kissing me. Then I thought, "ok, I know I'm in my room and in my bed, but there's no way that this famous guy is actually here". So then I became lucid and thought, "Yeah, I'm dreaming, but I don't care!" and continued the kiss fest. Then I woke up for real (alone ) and it was morning.
Ok, every time these LDs happened (that I've recalled), it's always been after a false awakening, and it's always been only moments before waking up for real in the morning (last REM cycle).
So my question is, is it normal for the most intense LDs to occur just prior to awakening from the last REM cycles? And during false awakenings?
Any input is welcome, thanx!
