I had a very bizarre lucid dream last night, involving mirrors. I knew mirrors in lucid dreams could have unusual properties, partially from firsthand experience, but never as weird as my lucid dream last night. So it made me wonder, what is the weirdest/most interesting mirror-related experience you have had in a dream?
In mine, I was in a public restroom, where there was a row of partially-fogged up mirrors, a few other people, and an unusual digital clock on the wall. One of the people complained that the clock wasn't working properly, randomly flashing to random, incorrect times. I looked at it, saw that it said that it was around 3:00, which didn't seem right. This made me become lucid immediately.
I looked at one of the mirrors, and the reflection was very odd. At first it looked totally different from me, like some woman, if I remember correctly, and it quickly re-solidified into something that looked a bit more like me, although still quite different. I remembered an old lucid task, (or possibly an old suggestion for a lucid task, I don't quite remember) to reach into a mirror and shake hands with your reflection, and decided to try it.
I pressed my hand against the mirror, which was so foggy that I could barely see my reflection, and tried to push it through. At first it wouldn't budge, but then my hand slowly slid through the glass, and into the reflection behind. I could just see my reflection's hand, and grabbed it. I shook it once, and he tried to pull me into the mirror! Scared , I pulled my hand out quickly, but neglected to release my reflection's hand. My hand came out, but I was pulling out my reflection with it. As his arm emerged and I could see him clearer, I could tell that he definitely wasn't just a copy of me. On his forearm, there was a small mouth with pointed teeth, and two small, creepy looking eyes.
This was a bit much for me to deal with, so I reflexively woke myself up and ended the dream there, but it was certainly interesting.
