      My 2nd Natural LD

This one was really weird, as I fell asleep some time after 10:30am and woke up around 12:15pm (less than 2 hours for the whole sleep cycle). Somewhere in that time frame I LD'd in the middle of the dream.

      Anyways, onto the dream:

After I went back to sleep at 10:30, I eventually fell into a dream that I don't recall very well. At some point in the dream, I "fall asleep" in the dream and that transitions me into another part of the dream. In this one, it's the classic "armageddon" scenario, and the earth is about to explode. Machines everywhere are going hay-wire from the magnetic shifts below the crust and these machines are keeping humans from esaping the planet through space shuttles, etc. After a while of wandering through this dream, I start to get really skeptical of the whole situation. My dream brain's rationale went something like "wait a minute, Earth doesn't have THAT MANY space shuttles. Besides, where would we even go if we COULD get off the planet?? ... Huh, guess I'm dreaming then."

So there I am, fully lucid. I try to not get too excited, but I can sort of "feel" myself waking up, so I try the whole spinning thing, and I end up sitting in my dorm room's office chair, which is now spinning around with me (my subconcious sure likes to try to trick me :p ). Rather than going with this new scenario presented before me, I stay fully lucid.

Aside: this is probably my first time where I actually took time to notice my surroundings more. I could actually "feel" the fake leather of the chair and the heated tile of my dorm room floor. My vision was 100% clear. If I wasn't lucid at this point, I probably would've taken this entire scenario at face value and would've continued on without a moment's thought, regardless of RC or rationalizing, it felt that real.

Anyways, back to the dream: I say to myself "sweeeeet." Because, hey, now I can do whatever I want... ...so I do. I'm not exactly sure whether what happens next in the LD is allowed to be explained in the rules, so I'll just skip it. I'm pretty sure you can tell where I'm going with this, though... (hint: a girl walks into my room...)

So.... when that's over, the dream shifts to a similar one, but now I'm in a hotel with a bunch of my dorm-mates for a trip to some museum or another. Anyways, after gaining my bearings, my older brother walks into my room with my older sister to celebrate my 19th birthday (which would be happening in just one more day IRL... crazy huh?). So we get ready to start celebrating and start to get a really awesome party going, which involved us getting massively wasted, and then--

And then my alarm clock goes off and I'm cut-off right in the middle of the dream. Laaaame. Luckily, the psychological effects of being awoken during my REM period seemed to be vastly out-weighed by the fact that I just had an awesome LD, and I didn't even try to make it happen!

Wow, looking back, this is a really long post. Hope someone enjoys it! Sorry if I rambled.

Hi, just read your post, pretty cool. My lucid dream's are that real
as well. Actualy they get so vivid, that real life seem's pretty dull compared to them. well good job, and keep lucid.

its really cool how skeptic and suscipsious you are even during dreams.
going lucid by just thinking 'what the...?' is pretty rare ... at least for me :dizzy:

To be honest, it surprised me a bit too. Normally I do tend to go with the flow in a dream and don't become lucid, no matter how painfully obvious it is that the whole thing is just absurd. And then I wake up, and say to myself, oh come on, how could you fall for something like that? After all, this is only the second one I've had (that I can remember).

All 7 times I've had a lucid dream, it's happened by just going, "hey, what the..." None of the techniques have worlked for me.
I will some day legally change my name to:

"Simquatti Charles Moses Solomon Gunther Schmupak, Magical Ninja Reverend LXXIV"

      Lucid Count: 7
