The first time I tried to WILD it took me 500 count (30 minutes assuming respiration rate of 16 per minute) to get to SP. The second time it took 200 count, the third which immediatly followed the second, 120, the fourth took 150ish, and the final time I was at 300 or so before I accidentally fell asleep. A shame too cause it's the first time I had any hypnagagic stuff. I'm getting closer though. I've read a lot various places about the swallowing thing, and the important thing I gather is don't think about it. I've tried WILD 5 times, and reached SP 4 of those times. If you get in the mindset "i've gotta swallow, and when I do it's gonna mess me up" then it will, you're losing focus. Just do it and focus on counting or whatever you do. Also it gets easier to ignore it with more attempts, as I attempted WILD last night and didn't even think about swallowing at all... but I fell asleep. Bah. As for forgetting to breathe, someone else posted that somewhere recently. I count in time with my breathing and haven't ever "forgot to breathe" As I told the other poster, I am no doctor and do not claim to be one, however I imagine if you really _aren't_ breathing then eventually you'll lose conciousness. At this point your brain will take over the breathing process. I imagine you are breathing though, you just may be losing awareness of it. The only trouble I have with breathing is at first onset of SP it feels like I am going to suffocate and it's hard to breathe. This is when the body is trying to automatically take over breathing, which is what it does while you are asleep. I find if I just don't fight it, after about 30-60 seconds, the brain kicks in full force and it becomes deep and regular again. Hope I was of some help!
