. I Have Doubt that LD's can be THAT Wonderful...!

      Well...
I've had one "low level" LD
you can only imagine my disappointment

      so out of curiousity...
Exactly HOW vivid and realistic can LD's really get?
On one hand I have doubt that it can be that wonderful
On the other hand I'm scared that they WILL be that wonderful
      only because...
I'm thinking about what if a lucid dream was like right now
and I suddenly imagined someone coming to kill me
and they came just because I thought about it!
that kind of power scares me.

So tell me about how vivid/realistic LDs can get
      or how yours were
or just lucid dream stories (I love those)

LDs can get so realistic even real life can't compete. Read the thread about making it realistic, I forget what it's called. Anyways, what you do is look at your hands in great detail, then try to hear any ambient sounds. That was just a vague tutorial, look around for the thread, it will make dreaming worth-while.

People often say, myself included, that lucid dreaming can seem "realer than real". It can be far more vivid than when you are awake because you are no longer limited by anything but your imagination.

My first long vivid lucid dream came shortly after hanging out on these forums. The first thing that blew me away was how incredibly bright and detailed everything was. A lot of times I spend the first few minutes of lucid dreaming just staring at and touching everything in amazement. Any feeling or sensory input you experience in the day you can experience without limit while dreaming. I highly reccommend clicking the picture in my signature, it will take you to the Wake Back To Bed tutorial. This is, in my opinion, the easiest way to learn, and the best way to induce long and vivid lucid dreams, since dreams are most vivid in the early morning(longer REM period). With this method I was having intense lucid dreams within a couple weeks and having them most days.

There's always lower level lucid dreams that aren't quite impressive but don't let that discourage you. That's really a good sign that you're on the right track.
