Ummm.... sorry to be picky, but that statement doesn't make any sense to me -- it's like an oxymoron. The very definition of being lucid is knowing that you are in a dream.

It sounds like that's the point at which you became lucid, so you did not "start off" lucid.
Wish I could answer your question about the colors, but I'm afraid I have no idea.
As far as the flying goes -- well, it can be tricky. Sometimes I can control my flying very well, other times I struggle to fly in the direction that I want to, or to even stay afloat. Just keep working at it, and you'll probably learn how to fly better with time.
But in any case, congrats on becoming lucid, and keep up the good work!
