What you guys don't overstand is, i don't even share these things with my friends and family because they all think i'm nuts!!! This kind of stuff has been happening to me for as long as i can remember, and there's really no one i can share my experiences with. That's why i'm so thankful that i found this message board in the first place.[/b]
Have you ever heard of \"confirmation bias.\" It's when you reject things that DIDN'T happen (a bruise or bite isn't in the same form as the one in your dream/your teeth feel a bit sore maybe/etc.) but when something similar happens you form conclusions based on that. Have you heard of how people have epic long dreams in minutes or even SECONDS? You can really process that much information! Therefore, you go and in the motion of biting your hand, your mind forms a short reason for why it happens. If you were in a house, you might see a mousetrap and get your hand trapped in it, you were with horses, you get bitten. Catch my drift? And even then, if you are with horses, even if your body doesn't know you are biting your hand and you go and bite it, your mind can quickly formulate a reason for it, causing you to believe the initial reason was a dream.
I mean do you guys even know what lucid dreaming is?
      [/b]
That is an idiotic question (before you retaliate in a hostile way, I said your question was idiotic, not you)
so one night, i was asleep and i felt this weight on me, you know, like someone is actually laying on you. So i look up and there's this guy there, but i couldn't really see him, but i could feel his weight on me, but i could kind of see him. I don't expect for you guys to overstand what i am talkling about but it is most certainly true. I never spoke to him aloud, we spoke telepathicly. I asked him who he was and he just smiled at me. I asked him what are you doing here, and he had so much lust in his eyes like he wanted to have sex; hence the feelings or should i say vibes i got from him( also got the vibe that it indeed was a male entity.) He kept trying to force himself on me and i asked him very politely to leave at which that time he basically refused. I told him to get the hell outta here and leave me alone, at which that point i got completely up and prayed and meditated and formed a psychic ball of protection around me and slept peacfully for the rest of the night. It's like, when i dream, even though i wouldn't call that a dream, i smell, taste feel, and invision things like i'm not even asleep at all.
      [/b]
That's called your way of visualizing \"sleep paralysis.\"

Like about two weeks ago, i was having this dream where i was bungy jumping in some body of water and on the last plunge, there was something holding me under saying(telepathicaly) \"you know this is what you want isn't, this is what you want.\" i kept saying no, this is not what i want. it was so disturning that i jump out of my sleep and didn't go back!! yet it was very calming and soothing, like someone was trying to coax me to kill myself!!! Weird huh. YOu guys may as well start calling me RIPLEY, because i've got a million of em'!!!!
      [/b]
That is in NO way (like the other one) paranormal in the least, or even out of the ordinary! It's called a "dream."

i believe i understand completely what you are talking about...sleep paralysis. in the middle ages you would have called it an incubus.

while in similar states i have heard breathing across the room, heard guttural, demonic growling an inch from my head, the feeling i was being suffocated by an evil presence, etc etc.

however, this is while i was overly superstitious and thought the experiences were leak-overs from the 'astral realm'. my superstition caused me to misdiagnose what was actually happening.

this post leads me to believe you legitimately believe many things that happen to you are paranormal. that is well and good. i once had a similar state of mind. however, IMHO you need to realize how the mind can play tricks on one, especially when one eagerly wants to believe they are experiencing something occultic or paranormal.

you have yet to describe any experience that isn't easily explained by natural causes, or your mind and imagination. of course, you are free to your own opinion. i believe many strange things have happened to you. i also believe they were caused solely by a mixture of natural causes (dreaming, half-dreaming, sleep paralysis) and your mind, subconscious or otherwise.

      peace and love.

First of all, i've never been around horses, my teeth or gums were not sore, and why would i be biting my hand in my sleep? I don't have fleas! It's not fair for you to ridicule me for something that you can't or won't comprehend. I'm gonna continue to post on this site until i'm blue in the face so fuck off.

Err, I think \"simple\" is what YOU are. I hope I don't have to resort to using dictionary.com, but I'll tell you that YOU are simple for seeking easy answers for scientific solutions. It's a perfectly natural human reaction, I suppose, but if you transcend it you will find yourself MUCH more enlightened! (did I just sound like a thiest, or what?). It's not that I \"don't like it.\" It's called a forum for a reason for a reason. In response, I will say this.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING PROVED WRONG AND HAVING ISSUES DEBATED, THEN DON'T POST THEM!!!!!!!!

Oh, and I'm not close-minded. You are being close-minded. The definition of open-minded isn't \"believing in paranormal things.\" You are being close minded because you deny the scientific explanation for your experience COMPLETELY.

      A) Is that supposed to be a joke?

      <!--QuoteBegin-hydraat_takiyah

last night i slept on the couch. Ok, i always sleep on the couch. Anyhow, i dreamt that there was a horse standing over me; and when i attempted to push him away and try to find out how the heck he got there, he locked and loaded on my hand like it was some kind of meal or something. The more i tried to yank away, the harder he bit down, until i finally snatched away and partially woke up.
You were around horses in your dream, that's what you imagined bit you.

      B) The teeth and gums being sore was not likely to happen, so acting like my theory is false becuase that is not so is silly
      C) Err, that is a silly thing to ask. I could just as easily reject your theory by saying "why would you have a horse biting you." Think about it... if your mind can comprehend a horse biting your hand, it can just as easily act out you biting your own hand. There is something called a "subconcious," as well.
      D) I'm not "ridiculing" you. I'm telling you why forming scars from a lucid dream is highly unlikely. It's not about lack of comprehension, it's about lack of evidence on your part and you completely denying that it might not have been your mind that forms those scars!
      E) Hm... well with that attitude you might just get yourself a ban in the future. But go ahead and post, I like to debate with people like you. oh, and I'm not going to "fuck off."

Just a little bit out of hand guys. hydraat_takiyah I did stick up for you cos they said you where not telling the truth, that doesnt mean go tell people to fuck off now does it. IMHO you probably did bite your hand in your sleep. Not saying it couldnt be something else but as a scientist (who thinks ghosts and all that are real) I would need proof that you didnt do it your self. It would take photo evidence of the bite marks and a mould of your teeth print to show the truth.

Unless you have these then dont blame people for giving you other ideas of what might have happend. You say why would you bite your hand in your sleep, I wake up very often with hand prints on my arms, not like slap marks but proper hand prints. If I had a dream that someone took hold of my arm and then woke up and saw the hand marks, it would seem odd. But I know its me that does it in my sleep.

Just chill and stop telling people to fuck off. Its not what this forum should be about and I would think if you carry on the a mod will ban you.

YOU KNOW, I REALLY DON'T CARE WHAT YOU PEOPLE THINK OF MY EXPERIENCES BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST THAT, MY EXPERIENCES. I DO UNDERSTAND THAT IT MAY BE PLAUSIBLE TO FIND OTHER EXPLANATIONS TO WHY THAT HAPPENDED BECAUSE THAT'S THE TIPICAL RESPONSE FOR US WHO REFUSE TO BE UNBRAIN WASHED. I DON'T SEE WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS IN BEING CALLED A LIAR THAT BEING CALLED A DICKWEED; THE TWO OFFENSES ARE EQUALLY BELITTLING. WHY WOULD I TYPE SOMETHING UP THAT IS A LIE IN THE FIRST PLACE, AS IF I DON'T HFAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO. AND IF I WERE WORRIED ABOUT HOW I SPELLED THINGS I COULD EASILY ACCESS MY SPELL CHECK. STOP.

This thread has gone from a shared, possibly false, experience and philosophical debate to a downright e-screaming match. What? This is not a topic that deserves the languagee and attention that it has recieved. It is absolutely baffling to me.

Look. The pursuit of the Lucid Dream involves intense relaxation and focus, neither of which can be found in this thread. It often requires the support of others, which can also not be found in this thread. We are supposed to be in this together all in pursuit of lucid dreams.

This is not becoming of this website. I would expect this kind of thing from high school kids arguing over something as asinine as saying "band sucks."

Does it really matter enough to:

A- call some a lying sack of shit?

B- call someone dickweed and type in all caps so we all assume you are both shouting and upset?

Have a level of maturity, realize it is the internet where the most influential thing is porn, save your emotions for real-life and basically lighten up. It does not become of anyone to ridicule and demean. Debate and reasonable arguments are wonderful, but this is out of hand. I tried to state my opinion earlier, but this is just e-crap.

Also, if you don't want to hear what other people have to say, posting on a PUBLIC FORUM may not be the best course of action.

Whoever monitors this stuff needs to do a better job of filtering out such obscene and ludacris posts. I haven't seen a thread this bad since Psionics.

For starters, turning off your caps lock would be much appreciated. Anyways, he had a perfectly appropriate post and you don't have to go ape shit about it. He did not call you a liar, he said that you probably just bit your hand in your sleep but YOU DIDN'T REALIZE IT. I read it becuase it's a forum.

What's "tipical" is people like you saying "I KNOW WHAT I DID SO STOP POSTING HERE AND FUCK OFF" when people offer very good scientific conclusions for your experience.

Starbuck had some very good points, take note of them.

By the way, if a mod comes along, don't lock this.

Bah, I liked where this discussion was going, then everyone got mad and now this is going to be closed.

Do you have any pets, or perhaps, live with a cannibal? Or did you have something circular shaped on your couch(like the lid of a can of tennis balls) that you hand could have been laying on?

you are absolutely right, yet, i don't take too kindly to being called a liar. So indeed, your pals started. I just don't like to leave unfinished bus. I would never call someone a liar, even if i didn't believe what they said to be true. Furthermore, i've been traveling in my sleep for as long as i can remember and lucid dreams and astral travel are second nature to me. sometimes i fight separation when i don't want to visit anyone or anyplace for that matter. JUst thought i'd share some of my experiences with you guys, but instead of meeting and greeting and embrasing the new kid on the block; i was greeted with put downs and insults. I would never take positive critisism personal but being called a liar, well that's just too much for me; and you seem pretty jealous of this thread. we'll visit your thread too sometime!

Guys, i did not bite my hand, I sleep alone, and this experience was so real, I'm just gonna say it really happened because when i awoke my hand was killer sore and bruised, and the bite was clearly there. even if i took pictures it would still be unbelievable! Sorry, this really happened so humor me!

Do you have any proof that you have actually been astral projecting, as opposed to just maybe it being a vivid lucid dream?
      Cheis. Dailo.
It's tough to bring someone back that never really lived.

The more i tried to yank away, the harder he bit down, until i finally snatched away and partially woke up.
just when i thought the beast was gone, i felt him breathing on me like he was some sick love slave! *Weird huh! But the real hum dinger is i have bite marks on my left hand where the fellow bit me at!! Anyone else experience this kind of phenomenon? Well, i just happen to have a long list of experiences just like this one. If anyone would ever like to hear about them, just let me know!
Interesting. They say that people hypnotized to feel burns will develop blisters.

However, most remarkable about this dream is that it is pointing out that you are wasting your potential. You know, you are supposed to be riding this Dream Horse. You are supposed to be master of it, not it of you. Who is mounting whom here?

Horses are symbolic of Will. Will is what allows us to take charge of the direction our lives and to achieve whatever goals we deem worthwhile... indeed, even to formulate such goals, one needs a certain amount of Will and the ability to control it.

Your dream would indicate that now your Will is biting the hand that feeds it.... that your Will is presently being used self-destructively.

Well, the only proof that i have is my sanity; I mean, it's been going on for as long as i can remember. I always astral project but i know for sure when it doesn't go smoothly; you know the intense vibrations you feel, and the paralysis. Like last night i was in a dream and I woke up at a friend's apartment. I said to him wow It's still dark out. I thought it had been later in the day than that. He was on the phone and I asked whom he was on the phone with and when i took the phone it was a mutual friend of ours and i proceeded to tell her about the nights events(all in a dream.) I heard her voice as crystal clear as if I was talking to her on the phone awake! i felt the weight of the phone in my hand and i felt my friends body heat next to me. I looked into his eyes and felt a deep sorrow come over me like he was saying I'm sorry you had to go through the ordeal you went through.

YOu know, that is a very interesting point you made there, and most certainly true. Where did you read that at, I would really like some inlightenment on the subject. So are you saying I'm in the way of my own progress, email me, let's talk!
