This was my first 'real' LD--I've had them before, realizing that I was dreaming, but I always assumed that I couldn't do anything to control my dream until I came here and read up on the topic. It's very exciting and I'm glad to be here!

Anyway, I had my first true LD last night. I spent the majority of the dream non-LD, it was a world of anthropomorphs and I wandered about in it (in one part I was a male bird anthro competing for a female... very weird... ) To make a long story short, the dream turned into a classical 'chase' dream (I have them very often) after I helped a bug anthro get out of a trap. Apparently the people there didn't like bugs, so they started coming after me for helping it. I was in 'my house', a huge three-story thing, when a cop came to the door and began hunting for me. He caught me downstairs and hauled me up to talk to some people. But I ran back downstairs while the cop was distracted and hid in the laundry room. I knew he was coming down for me and I knew he would find me hiding behind the laundry room door and I knew that I would spend the whole rest of this dang dream trying to hide from him, just like I did in all the other chase dreams I had... hey, wait a minute! All the LD stuff I had read up on before going to bed hit me, and I suddenly thought, "This is a dream! This is MY dream! I don't have to put up with this stupid cop!"

So when he came downstairs, I grabbed him and threw him out the window! I was so proud! After that I went back upstairs and decided to try out the 'magic door' trick, so I thought, "Rayman will be behind this door when I open it." And he was! (Rayman is my favorite videogame character)

However, after that I lost lucidity (probably due to my excitement) and I couldn't remember much more. But it was a great relief to finally put a stop to those annoying (and scary) chase dreams! I'm also very happy to have had my first real lucid dream. Has anyone else been able to defeat their nightmares through LD? I'd love to hear your stories.
