Letting go and Saying Goodbye to an Old Friend

Hmm... Must have been something in the turkey yesterday.

I found myself this morning in somewhat of a weird non-lucid dream. We had a monitor lizard running around the house, which I thought strange because the weather here is a little too cold in the winter for them. I remember trying to coax it out and away from our property because I was worried about it eating the pets.

During this time, I found a couple of people placing signs at the perimiter of my property saying "Jesus Loves You!" this in itself was quite weird. They left a table full of books in the middle of the road and I moved the to the side before they caused an accident.

The neighbors across the street were digging and flooding irrigatiobn ditches for their gardens. I finally coaxed the monitor to their side of the property and it took up residence in the ditches.

I then walked bak to my property where the lizard had previously been and remember seeing the best dog I have ever owned sitting beside the road. She has been dead for quite a few years now, dead, but not forgotten. In my dream, she was a puppy. A nice blue-tick Weimararner mix. She was a puppy in 1986.

Finally, lucidity kicked in. I remember speaking to her.

"Hi George, hey it's good to see you again, and look, you are a little puppy. I know you are just a construct since you were a puppy over 20 years ago." She just looked up and me and wagged her tail as I petted and talked to her. "Goodbye old friend, I sure miss you".

With some sadness, I let lucidity slip away at that point and don't remember much else.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

      WOW

What a great opportunity to see your old friend.
I have had several dreams with my mother who has passed. Most of them were not lucid. The ones that were I was very upset because my logical part of my mind was engaged. I new she was gone.
Now I do as you have done. Try to enjoy this pleasurable moment that I have.!

Aww, I just lost my best doggie friend. I'd give anything to meet with her in a dream even if it's just my memory of her. I'm glad you got that chance. : )

Ah, wow. This is sweet and sad. Lately, when I seem to need it most, my kitty in America will pop into one of my dreams and cuddle with me. I miss him terribly.

I think it's wonderful that you got a chance to talk to George again. I honestly can't understand people who own pets but don't consider them part of the family. When a pet passes away, it hurts just as much as a family member, and when you see them again in the dreaming it feels much the same.
