Rock the heck on!

I finally had a lucid dream that I didn't lose immediate control of! I didn't last very long, but at least I actually stayed aware. I attribute it to being less stressed (weekend!) and having more time to sleep. YAY!

Here's the excerpt from my journal:

I got into my car and started driving, but the scene changed. It was sunset, but amazingly so as every inch of sky was that dark, dusky orange color. I was no longer driving on a familiar road--I was on some kind of highway with orange construction barrels that were set up in a really confusing pattern. Somehow I took the wrong path and ended up driving into traffic, swerving to miss cars, headlights coming at me from everywhere. Then just as I passed through the barrels into the correct lane, it suddenly changed. I was looking down from above, and there was a white pickup with blue writing on the side and a metal rack in the back. I knew that it was my car but that it had changed, and I was hurtling towards the hispanic man getting out of it intending, I believe, to become him when I thought--\"My car just became a truck of its own accord.\" I stopped myself, landed gently behind the man, and said \"Ah ha! I'm dreaming!\" And I started focusing on staying aware. I was able to follow the man who was now pushing the truck, curious as to what he was doing. He got the truck to the side of the road and reached into the back. I got the distinct impression that he was doing something secret and illegal, and I really wanted to know what it was, but then my daughter cried and I woke up.[/b]
