      THE Lucid Crossroads Thread.

So I figured the Lucid Crossroads deserves a thread of its own. I've seen a few threads around asking about it and offering a detail, so I decided to make a thread were anyone who knows about it can post their experiences with it. Hope to see a lot of activity here. 8)

For those who don't know what it is: http://www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk/index.html

So far I haven't made it there yet, but I think I've gotten pretty close!

      07/21/05
Probably my longest lucid dream ever last night, though I don’t remember all the details. We were at a pool party. Don’t know who exactly the “we” is, however I know that Yarixa was in some, or all, of this dream. Being completely oblivious to the fact I was dreaming, I heard someone finally shout something about dreams and dreaming (was it DeS?) And it was as if a light switch had been turned on. I did a couple of reality checks to make sure, and lo’ and behold, I was dreaming. “Hey Everybody!!!” I shouted in the center of the public pool facility. “I’m Lucid!!!!” And of course, as usual, everyone just kinda looked around like “…Huh?” The visual resolution to my dream increased like it usually does when I go lucid. So, without bothering to say another word, or take the time to put the rest of my clothes on, I bent my legs, cast my eyes to the night sky, and launched straight up into the air, a la Neo, with the intent on finding the Crossroads. Flying was great (isn’t it always?) but I never did end up finding the crossroads. Though I think I got as close as the Desert. So finally, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, I landed, and thought I’d try transporting. Closing my eyes, I began to phase out of sight with concentration, determined to make my destination the Lucid Crossroads. I could feel my existence flickering like an old, worn out light bulb, but every time I opened my eyes, I was still standing in the middle of nowhere. So I figured I’d try spinning. So I spun around over and over, and instead of reaching the Crossroads, I ended up in another Scene, some hotel (party?) where a bunch of my friends were hanging out. Old red-headed Phil was there (which is cool cause I haven’t seen him in years.) And we were sitting around smoking, drinkin, having a good time. At this point, I was still lucid, and if I remember correctly, I was showing off, doing things like putting my hand through walls and stuff. Every now and then, someone would tell me that my hand wasn’t really going through the wall, even though I could look down and see that it was, giving me the impression that they were trying to imply I was crazy. Lol. Sooner or later, of course, the cops showed up as everyone is just about leaving (those guys can even ruin a good time in the Dream World. Lol. ..amazing.) So of course, everyone is all freaking out, and those people that were leaving with me piled into my car. (My friend Aaron was there, also.) So we start to leave the hotel complex, and flashing lights appear behind me. By this time, I’d lost my lucidity, (g’damn police -_-) and was sure we were all busted, as I was drunk ‘n high, had a car full of people, and a hotel room that was just left trashed. So when the cop pulls me over and tells me to get out of the car…he ends up asking me if I knew anyone who drove a white car (the color of mine) that was a Different Make and Model, because this person was wanted in connection with a serious crime. A little shocked, I told the officer “no,” and he said “ok, sorry about the inconvenience. You guys have a nice day.” …And he left.

      ….Lol.

Wow!!! What a great thread and I cannot believe that NO ONE replied!! Is it that people here don't know about it? Is it possible that a whole community of lucid dreamers hasn't heard of The Lucidcrossroads website? Well, if you haven't, I strongly recomment that you go as soon as possible because this might very well become your next advanced lucid task for the next month! What do you think Seeker? Would the bar be too high? And those who actually would achieve it could tell us how they did it, what's their method. We could therefore all reproduce their behaviors and mental strategies and increase our chances of success. It would be a neat experience for us to meet in a dreamworld hey?

So if the advanced lucid dreamers are up to it, I suggest that you click on the link below and go ahead read the detailed instructions on how to get "there", on how to reach this legendary "dream world" that Crossroads created.

On that matter, to facilitate the task, what we could do is record a .mp3 of the directions. Anyone has a nice relaxing voice and a mic here? If we all listen to the same directions while dreaming, it could very well facilitate the process!

      http://www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk/gettingus.htm

On the other hands, if other people think that the website is made by lunatics who are dreaming tooooo deeeeeep dude, I would also love to hear from you, as to what made you think it would not be possible to do. I have a couple ideas myself as to why it would be hard to achieve. Timing, for example, we would have to be in the same sleep phase at the same time. But then again, it has been said and shared here that it is possible to meet other people that we know very well in our dreams. So... There should not be any real reasons why it would be impossible to do it with other beings as well. It would be interesting to discover the specific criteria, or conditions that share people to whom it happened.

Those who visited the website but found the graphics too cheap, well, I agree but maybe since they are fairly simple, they become easier to integrate by the mind. I do agree though, that if it was designed by someone who had only half of the creative potential in webdesign of the people at dreamviews, it would be a delightful experience, cause you guys rock! I love the images on this site, honestly! Also, I think it was Aquanina's lounge that I really liked at some point a long time ago. I downloaded the picture but I forgot who it was from exactly. There was another couple very good ones.

So who knows, maybe people here will be texting each other eventually saying : "Shall we meet in THE lounge of the beach house tonight?" 8)

Looking forward to hear from you all! . I'm especially looking forward to what words of wisdom Leo will share with us on that subject! And also if people will want to take up the task seriously!

Can you imagine if it really works? This could open up to new realities with potential that we haven't even started to dream of...

      !

Funny, as i continued to check out their website, I checked out their "links" section and I remembered that it was there where I had discovered Dreamviews the first time. It's in the section: "Best Lucid/dream sites on the net, In my humble opinion"... Cool hey?!

      http://www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk/Links.htm#best

John,.... who will take up the task as soon as he receives the audio directions freshly made by a passionate and generous heart!

Whats up? Thanks for the reply.

You know, I'm actually pretty surprised no one has really had anything to put on this thread either. I'd figured a lot of Dreamviewsers had probably heard of it. Maybe not? Anyway, I'm hoping to see a lot of posts in the future. I haven't had much luck getting to the Crossroads, but I think sharing our experiences/close-calls even would contribute greatly. (Plus, I think the Crossroads is a site/place that Every lucid dreamer should at least know about)

I'm designing a Lucid Dreaming Arena in the Artist Corner section if you want to check it out. It is an unofficial (as of yet) add-on to the Crossroads which is accessible through either one of the doors in the dojo, the Pool that they have at the crossroads, or of course by flight or teleportation. I'm still a novice at 3d art, so of course it isn't finished yet, but if you end up checking out the thread, suggestions are more than welcome Feel free to share any ideas. 8)

Well I wanted to mention that I have tried getting to the crossroads lately(when I started trying my amount of LD's dropped significantly for some reason) and that I have been experienting with going into my friends dreams and trying to make astral locations in my LD's. But since I was new I didn't think you would even accept my post or something.

Sorry for being a lazy bum and not putting the effort in to actually read up on this my self, but I have a few questions. Is it supposed to be a universal place where you can go to try to meet people and change "paths" as it were in your dream, or is it just supposed to be an excercise in your ability to create a dreamscape based on memory of a description?

A little bit of both, actually. Its an activity for the mind that could lead to all sorts of possibilities. Everything from a guestbook that you can sign (and look for the signatures of other dreamers if that interests you) to numerous doors that could help guide you to many different dreamworlds and scenarios, a dojo where you could practice your skills (fighting or otherwise) mirrors to mess with. A bunch of different things. Sort of a universal HomeBase for lucid dreamers. But the more important question is, is it worth reading about for yourself to see if its something you're interested in? Yup. I think so. Why would you consider yourself too lazy to read, but then ask questions about it?

Its not That big a site. Check it out.

I've read about it quite a bit and it sounds interesting, This was one of the first sites I saw when I discovered lucid dreaming.... Very helpfull on many subjects, perhaps when I WILD tonight I'll try and get there....
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...

I've had a quick look at the site and think it's a good idea if you're having trouble getting to certain scenarios, increasing lucidty etc. The way they have created it is quite smart i think. Because once you get there you have the opportunity to use their simple objects (doors, mirror, fountain, dojo) to achieve lucid tasks/increase lucidty. At the moment I have other goals in mind when i get lucid but later on down the track I'd like to have a go to try and get there.

You guys might find this amusing but I'm actually not very attracted to the site because of the blue dream characters they created. They don't look like DC I'd like to hang around with! lol

But then again, I guess I would not have to chat with them necessarely... And who knows, maybe they would turn out to be great guides!

Its a made up place where lucid dreamers can go and meet each other, thus having a shared dream. I have been there 3 times, each time by simply closing my eyes and imagining I'm there... and each time it has looked different. They all have a reception with the two receptionists but they weren't blue. There is usually a lot of other people there and I asked someone once if they were a lucid dreamer and they replied, "no". Its a fun place to go because the scenery is great and theres lots to do, just remember to get one of the receptionists to increase your lucidity for you.

Really?? O_o I think Glad and Clem are pretty cool

Yeah, one of these days, the Crossroads just might end up as the lucid task. It's beena while since I spoke with Pantilemon, time to catch up and see what he's into lately i think.
