i've been doing this for years...
this is my first post on here. i just stumbled across the site whilst looking up other stuff. i've been having control over my dreams as far back as i can remember. it started like this...not drifting off the point i'm making here now, just think this is an important thing to explain my position, bear with me... ever watch that program "lassie" about a german shepard dog that used to go around saving lives and all that and then disappear at the end of the program to go help someone else, etc etc. used to be popular enough when i was really young, circa 5. well, i loved the program and thought lassie was great. i adored the dog. one night i had a dream (i was only about 5, but remember this dream perfectly right down to the detail of the dust on the shelves in the sherrifs office the dream was set in, i'm 28 now)... the way it went was that i was in the sherrifs office (outside was dust roads etc, just like you'd see on the actual program)... i looked outside and seen lassie coming towards the building and was elated. the sherrif opened his door and went out, at the same time lassie came in. so now it was just me and lassie there. i remember being filled with joy at meeting lassie, but the dream was to take an undesirable twist... i called the dog towards me and in an instant the dream turned into a nightmare. (wasn't lucid anyway) lassie began to show his teeth and growl at me menacingly... delight suddenly turned to fear, and next thing the dog jumped the counter and began to tear me apart... at which point of course i woke up screaming. i never liked lassie again after that. point of telling you all that was that after that, i began to have reckless amounts of lucid dreams... pretty much all the time now unless i get sloshed on beer some night. i reckon that the fear i felt from that nightmare that night left me so afraid to go asleep (which it did), that i began to only be kind of half asleep, but with time i just began to know when i was dreaming and over all the years i can lucid dream anytime. i would certainly totally agree with the dream recall concept, because i can remember all the details of my dreams without logging them; afterall i decide what the dream is going to be myself. i regularly cast myself into prehistoric worlds with cliffs taller than skyscrapers and all kinds of huge creatures chasing me. i just run and jump off the cliffs and soar to the ground, whilst the creatures chasing me fall to their deaths. kind of like a video game. i can also jump up onto these cliffs from a lower level, even though i make these cliffs ridiculously high. i incorporate a lot of grass and shrubbery and colour into it too... adds to the excitement. one time though i was dreaming about a girl, and tbh, when i woke up i felt like i had loved her all my life, which wasn't really that good cos i actually felt like i'd lost someone when i woke up. i think i got lost in the dream with the bliss and slipped out of lucidity or something and it became very real to me. i didn't read everything on the introductory pages of the site, but i will tomorrow and look forward to reading about other peoples experiences. nitey nite. sweet dreams.
