So for the past few weeks I have been practicing and tinkering with various lucid dreaming methods. I have been keeping a dream journal and doing reality checks all throughout the day. I have been having a lot of success with improving my recall. For about 3 weeks now I have been able to remember 2 to 3 dreams a night. But I was getting frustrated as I have come close to attaining lucidity multiple times but always wake up when I suspect I am in a dream due to excitement.

For about two weeks now I have been practicing meditation every day for 20 to 30 minutes. Meditation has helped me increase my focus and awareness tremendously. Last night was the first time I felt that I was actually able to even get close to lucidity since the first time I accidentally did it.

I layed still in my bed just clearing my mind. After about 10 minutes I started to imagine myself driving to work. I figured this would work well for me as I would be able to easily replay a drive to work in my head. I let my mind relax as I pictured the road in front of me. Then I allowed any images or thoughts to just happen. Suddenly my dad as in the driver seat next to me eating an apple. He told me to pull over at the next gas station and I did. As soon as I pulled over I remembers that there are no as stations on my way to work and I knew I was dreaming. My dad disappeared and the gas station disappeared and the whole landscape turned into a desert. I was stoked. The problem was that before I could do anything, a giant head (and I mean massive) floated down from the sky directly at me. For anyone who has seen Watchmen, the head looked kind of like Dr. Manhattan. The head was bald, dark blue, and had white eyes. As the head got closer, it became harder to move. By the time the head was close enough to touch, I was pinned to the ground paralyzed. I thought that if I talked to the head I might be able to get up. I very consciously and clearly yelled, "who are you?" The head stared at me for what seemed to be over a minute. Then it opened its mouth and let out a deep moan. I could feel my body shaking and the dream slowly faded and I woke up.

Any advice or comments will be greatly appreciated
