Just FYI, that's called a \"False Awakening\" or \"FA\" and it's very common. This is where Reality Checks (RCs) come in the handiest! Apparently the best methods include sticking your finger through your palm (or trying to) and pinching your nose shut and trying to breathe.
Dear Rakkantekimusouka,
Did you not ever wonder why the Higher Self goes to such lengths to protect the integrity of Dreaming, and have you ever wondered at the wisdom of defeating the intent of the Higher Mind by circumventing its safeguards?
Recently one person posted who after having boasted that he was a preemminent Lucid Dreamer, but that he had a spate of False Awakenings, that a curse came upon him which prevented him from ever again even remembering his dreams. Apparently you can only defy the Higher Mind so long before it quite loses patience and makes its final ruling.
There are honest and lawful uses for Lucidity. Knowing that one is dreaming gives us the knowledge that we are indestructable, which opens up a wide degree of choice which we would not have if we still thought we had need of fear. And we have a broader range in our own Behavior and even over our own persons. But we violate the Rules when we tamper with the Dream Scenarios and cast our Witches Spells over the other Dream Characters. It is cheating. We must make honest choices. We must respect the integrity of the Dream Stories as they are presented. If we must fight enemies, then we must fight with honest weapons and not by altering the dream. The same with love. We must honestly woo our dream companions, and not hump veritable Dream Blowup Dolls.
How do we know we are abiding by the Rules? We will be able to be Lucid without False Awakenings forever trying to shake us off.
And yet we have so-called Lucid Dream Experts counselling newbies on means of defying the Wisdom of their Higher Minds. and what for? For the Lucid Dream parlor tricks that these Lucid Dream Experts take so much pride in... until their Higher Mind shuts them down for good and they write in complaing of years at an time without remembering a single dream.
False Awakenings are a warning. That is what we should be telling these newbies.[/b]
