I find that when you take a break, you get lucids. Don't get too serious and caught up in lucid dream. Yes, try. But don't go crazy over it. The more relaxed and positive you think about it, the easier it will be. If you think you'll get a lucid, really believe it, you'll most likely get one.
I think that's what happens to the most experienced LD'ers (I am still a beginner, I have a loooong way to go before I can say i'm experienced). They start getting very regular lucids, and get to the stage where they believe, every single night, that they will get a lucid. And so they do, and can relax more. It's like a cycle
