      Telephone Lines in the Sky

EDIT: The term I meant to use to describe this was power lines, makes more sense, since I didn't see any telephone poles.

So, I had this lucid dream a while back. I guess this was really the first lucid dream where I had the most success in flying. Anyway, I won't relay the whole dream but at one point I decided to fly as high as I could, it was a bright sunny day. I soared to the sky and as soon as I knew I was pushing limits (I was very high up) I ran into these telephone lines, couldn't see any poles, but that was the only way to describe it. I sorta got tangled up in them for a moment, I know I could've went further, but I remember being scared. I just hung out there for a moment and woke up.

I read in Stephen LaBerge's book that many dreamers have reported telephone lines in the sky. Some said that when they flew through them there was a shocking sensation and then they were flying around the globe. He didn't talk much about it, but he did say it might have something to do with living in cities. Anyway, I searched the forums and couldn't find a thread. I was just wondering how many have experienced this and what are your thoughts about it?

I was debating on asking in the Beyond Dreaming forum. I felt there was a lot of energy in those lines, felt it was a warning, or a boundary. I haven't dreamt of them since, but when I become lucid again, I will try going through them.

I have a friend who is really into super hero stuff. We were talking one time, and he told me he used to have a recurring non-lucid dream where he was Superman. He said he'd always be flying along and then he'd come to these two power/telephone lines that he knew he had to go through but never could. One night he was finally able to fly through them, and that was the first night he was able to become lucid in a dream. He said that this was way back in the seventies and he had never heard of lucid dreaming at the time, but he thought it was awesome.
(Took me like 30 mins. to post this. My cat can be a pain, lol.)

Thanks for sharing. I was shocked when I found LaBerge talking about the power lines. I had no idea other people had dreamed of them. I guess I understand the "city dweller" thing, but I find it rather unusual. I was living in a trailer park on the very north side of our town when this dream happened. (And cats can always be a pain, get a dog ;])

Yeah, that is pretty interesting. It's funny how alot of "common" dream themes don't seem that common at all. As for the city thing, my friend was living in a small rural town when this happened. If you see them again, maybe you can come to view it as a source of energy and "charge" your clarity or something. That would be cool.
(I like cats because they have personality and think for themselves, lol.)

Yes, hopefully I'll be brave enough to charge right through them and go beyond the world. Although, I might get scared being out in the vast expanse of the universe. Ill try to bring someone with me lol I'll have to kidnap a DC, Chuck Norris maybe. lol
(Point taken, but dogs never hold a grudge. Met too many pissy kitties....lol)

You can do It! Chuck Norris is definitely a good choice. If anything goes wrong, he can just do a push-up and push the world down, lol. Good luck!
(Who am I kidding? You're right.)
