2 Year Hiatus, DEILD, and lurking Dream Guide...

So, after 2 years or more of dreaming absence, I started trying to LD again 4 days ago, and had hardcore insomnia from my college exam sleeping schedule, but keeping up with this paid off.

The first dream I had involved me being a dick and pulling a prank on a cop (who looked like Raymond's brother, sorta...) and he got pissed and was taking me to the station, arrested me and everything. I was NOT lucid at this point, and started to freak the fuck out. On the way there he got distracted while driving and I nudged the steering wheel to crash us, which it did, and even that did not deter him. Once we got to the station (which was like a gym combo for some reason...) he left me in a lobby by a help desk.

Now, here's one of the trippy parts. I noticed, with little prominence at the time, a woman in the background. Style-wise, she looked a lot like this, with lighter hair, and not nearly as skimpy (full jeans and shirt,leather-ish jacket, feathers,etc), sort of Modern Indian... For the time I was in the station JUST before becoming lucid, she was there, in the background, yet definitely sticking out observing me, silently, with the slightest smile...it was like she wasn't really a part of the scene, yet was there. The cool part to this is, I hadn't really noticed then, cause I was distraught from being arrested lol, but I had made my next LD goal to meet my Dream Guide...and now that I look back that was her. Looking forward to a real encounter, as I've never bothered to seek out my Dream Guide, nor has it sought me.

Longer than I expected, I'm still sorta "high" off the experiences. The DEILD following waking up from that dream worked exactly as it's always described, and on my first try. Yet I was scrwed by 2-3 FAs, one of which I caught, the following ones got me however. :doh:

Also, for sake of keeping the first post uncluttered, I had a very strange "Asteroid" (As in the old Arcade game) effect when i tried to fly after becoming lucid in the Police Station Lobby. I tried to fly through the wall and out of the station, but only ended up going "off dream" on the left and coming back in on the right side of the dream scene... x_X Did the same trying to sink through the floor, and came right back in from the roof.

Anyone had that before? Maybe it's my subconscious idea of a police department as a "jail" keeping me from leaving, even in the dream...Damn, subconscious is incredible.

If you become lucid again try to find her! Just walk around looking for her, and she will appear. Talk to her and ask her questions. Let her lead you places too! I've heard stories of dream guides saving dreamers from nightmares too.

By the way, I have never experienced your "asteroids" effect. I guess your subconscious found a creative way to keep you in. What did it feel like when you transitioned from one side of the room to the other? Was it like passing through a barrier?

I think you found your dream guide. Your description of her reminds me very much of my dream guide. I actively sought my guide while lucid and she first appeared to me as the Chinese Goddess Quan Yin, but since then she appears much like the one you described, an oriental woman in modern clothing. She has taken me through some amazing dream experiences and has given me very valuable advice.

Maybe your subconscious was trying to keep you there with your dream guide so you could discover her.
