Thread: First LD induced by a friend in my dream!

Hey!


I'm new to these forums so I figured my first post should be my first lucid dream! I've been lurking for a while now, so I've learned all the techniques and whatnot already

I've been keeping a dream journal for about half a month now, that's about how long I've been interested in LDs. I read in a thread that it helps to do reality checks often IRL so that you can get used to it and hopefully execute one in a dream by habit. So I began doing this!

My first LD happened last night. I had a few regular dreams beforehand. I was in a store with one of my friends, Lawrence, when he looked right at me and said, "Time to do a reality check!" with a huge grin on his face. I did the one where you plug your nose and blow out, and it failed! At first I thought, "Wait, I must not be closing my nose tight enough, there's no WAY this is a dream." But sure enough, I was! I think I got too excited after that, because as I started to look around the store, everything began flashing. I looked at my hands to see that I still had the same amount of fingers I tried to do a dream spin, but ended up actually turning my body IRL and waking myself up xD

So there you have it! My first LD!

Thats really cool! Actually my friend is the one who helped me become lucid. I had a false awakening, and me and my friend were talking about the dream I'd had the night before. He was like "Wait, what if we are dreaming now? Do a reality check!" So I did, it failed, and I became lucid. Weird how it worked that way for you too
