      B6 in a Multivitamin...

Well I've heard wonderful things about Vitamin B6 for a long time and noticed that the multivitamins I take contain 2mg (100% Daily Value) so I was wondering if that would help or would the other stuff in the multivitamin like cancel it out? Also when should I take this, immediatedly before I try to go to sleep?

2mg is too low a dose to do you much good.
The standard LD dose I've encountered is 50mg, which is what I take.
Occasionally, i've heard of people taking 100, but that's just a bit excessive, in my opinion.
I'd invest in a bottle of 50mg B6 pills. They aren't terribly expensive, running maybe, 6-7 dollars for a decent sized bottle.
Take it maybe 30 minutes before bed on an empty stomach.
      Yeah.

Alright thanks, I think for now I'll skip that. If I'm having too much trouble dreaming, I might try some of that.

I take 1 cap of 200mg of B6 around 2-3 AM and have seen great spikes in my lucidity nights when training. I swear by the stuff. You'll read online on how much is too much, so far I'm sticking with the 200mg should be max allowed.

Well luckily I only took them during lucid training or research time. I wouldnt do it daily. Lets hope I dont croak, LOL ;-(

Vitamin B6 is usually safe, at intakes up to 200 mg per day in adults.7 However, neurological side effects can sometimes occur at that level.8 Levels higher than 200 mg are more likely to cause such problems. Vitamin B6 toxicity can damage sensory nerves, leading to numbness in the hands and feet as well as difficulty walking. The National Academy of Sciences performed an analysis of vitamin B6 studies. They determined the safe upper limit for long-term use is 100 mg per day. However, under supervision of a healthcare professional, up to 200 mg per day of vitamin B6 can be safely taken by most men and nonpregnant women for limited periods of time. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should not take more than 100 mg of vitamin B6 per day without a doctor’s supervision.

Since vitamin B6 increases the bioavailability of magnesium, these nutrients are sometimes taken together.

      Are there any drug interactions?
Certain medicines may interact with vitamin B6. Refer to drug interactions for a list of those medicines.

Vitamin B6 is a group of substances pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and pryidoxamine that are widely distributed in animal and plant tissues. These substances are involved in the metabolism of amino acids (the building blocks of protein) and in the breakdown of glycogen (a stored sugar). Vitamin B6 is found in liver, pork, chicken, fish, and whole grains. A deficiency can result in functional disturbances of the nervous system.

Pyridoxine is essential in the conversion of amino acids to carbohydrates or fats for storage or energy, the synthesis of new amino acids from carbohydrates, and the conversion of the amino acid tryptophan to niacin. Vitamin B6 provides a role in the development of most protein-related compounds including hormones, neurotransmitters such as serotonin, hemoglobin in red blood cells, and many enzymes.

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) is 2mg, but be aware that this dosage is the minimum that you require per day, to ward off serious deficiency of this particular nutrient. In the therapeutic use of this nutrient, the dosage is usually increased considerably, but the toxicity level must be kept in mind.
