I'd like to differ. Sometimes a cup of coffee before bed CAN calm you and put you to sleep, and the caffeine may or may not give you a heightened sense of awareness. It worked for me sometimes (when I put forth a concerted effort to LD every night), but honestly, hot tea works best.
